Elvin, just curoous, but in all of this are you praying for her recovery? Prayer helps a lot. I've had a prayer chain going for Mom since November and its helped her through these difficult times. I think without prayers and her own strong faith she would have just given up.

We might all have given up.

Are you suggesting that under similar circumstances an athiest would have died?

Well I am not quite sure how to go about praying as it is not something I ever considered, but my wife's grandma does all the praying and saying grace before eating and so on I quite respect that, only thing that is helping my wife right now is my undying love for her which is keeping her going through her phobia and giving her the will to live.

If you wish you can send some prayers our way we will gladly accept them thank you very much.

That's uncalled for.

It's up to each of us to find that which makes us not give up in the face of a crisis. For some of us, it's prayer. For some of us, it's love. For some of us, it's duty. The important thing is the will not to give up.
You got it Elvin, prayers for your wife and you :o]

I have no problem with someone praying for or sending along prayers, I actually think that is very sweet. What bothers me is insinuating that prayer is needed to overcome lifes obstacles. When I was diagnosed with cancer several member of my extended family suggested that chemo would be a waste of time and money as utlimately only a love for god could overcome my illness.

If you want to pray for him and his beautiful. If you want to send prayers to him and his even more beautiful. However when you start to suggest to an individual that they themselves need to pray, then you are preaching, and it is THAT which is uncalled for.
I don't pray but will be sending some positive vibes, Elvin37.

All the best!

That's not what you said, and it's not which I objected to. u2jedi spoke from his own experience, which he credited to prayer.

You, on the other hand, insinuated that he meant that one would die for being an atheist in a similar situation. That is foul, cruel, and has no place in decent argument. Shame on you.

Elvin37: She was rushed to the hospital today again, she was having much difficulty breathing but they let her go home after a few hours a blood test and x rays so that went all right, she did a lot better with the blood test this time around.
Stay strong, you're being awesome supporting her like you are. I've got a list of medical issues that leaves my wife taking care of me a lot, and just seeing how selfless she can be and how much she cares can be just the support I need to keep going. What you're doing will mean the world to her. I wish you both the best! :)
Its all right guys I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding please do not argue, we are all like family here right? we should not fight each other but instead get along well.

Sorry Elvin. This is your thread and we shouldn't be bickering in here.

I agree with TinyE.

You can't misunderstood 'Prayer helps a lot.'.

It is fine tinyE I just do not like seeing good people fight each other for misunderstandings I like seeing people get along, there's people out there that perhaps deserve to be argued at for the things they have done but I don't think that is the case for you guys here as none of you are bad people quite the opposite.

Can I ask where in Canada you live? I've been around all over up there and I only live across the big lake from Thunder Bay. That is beautiful stuff. Well okay I wasn't really fond of Winnipeg not having any street signs in English but that's just me. :P
