Not in, I just wanted to say that's sad to see you leave, Tarnicus. Although I totally understand, since I was thinking the same thing. That's why I spend less and less time in these forums lately. The good old members like yourself are leaving and they're been replaced by leechers, scammers, downreppers and liers, and the trust level has declined almost to zero. That's really sad.

Anyway, if you need anything, you know you can find me in "Underdark" ;)

Take care, and many thanks for everything you did here. I hope this is a "see you later", okay?

Cheers! ^_^
That is a damn shame. I seriously doubt you remember but you were one of the first people to welcome me to the forum. Good luck in the future, man.

It's always a pity to see someone going, no matter the reasons! Good luck on your journey, wherever it may lead - maybe we'll see each other again, at some point!

That said, you're leaving something behind, so thank you very much for that!

I'd be interested in Evil Genius, Shadow Man, Age of Wonders and Aarklash: Legacy. But since none of those are really on my wishlist, feel free to gift it to others who'd love to have them more!

Bye and thanks again!

Tarnicus: Today marks 3 years and 3 days of being a member of this site. There's my lucky number 33 again :) Thanks guys for some wonderfully enjoyable times here. In order for this place to be the place I once loved would require significant changes to how the forums operate. Yes I realise that I have brought this upon myself by taking a look into the history of the site since I had an extended break from the forums and I've realised that my energy is best directed to other aspects of life.

So with that in mind, I'd like to give away some GOG games that I purchased recently. The gifts will go to those I feel is appropriate, and this is not based on rep, join date or contact with me. It is based purely on what feels right to me.

So add whichever games interest you. Don't be scared to ask! Add a bunch if you like and I wont consider that to be greed but to merely give me the opportunity to spread them around a bit as I'd like to pass these on and go back to focusing on other aspects of life sooner rather than later. Visiting here is an unpleasant reminder of aspects of humanity that I avoid as often as possible. I can't help but call people on their bullshit. That is my nature. When those I care about support that bullshit, and the forums are set up in a way to make it easy to do so, my choice is to avoid it.

You can reply in this thread or via PM to request. I won't be posting who gets what or why. I might also add the 100 or so Steam and Desura codes that I have spare too if I can be bothered to collate them.

GOG Games

Aarklash: Legacy x2
Age of Wonders
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura x2
Avernum: The Complete Saga
Betrayal at Krondor Pack
Book of Unwritten Tales: Critter Chronicles
Deus Ex 2: Invisible War
Divinity: Dragon Commander Imperial Edition
Driftmoon x2
Eador: Genesis x2
Etherlords 2 x4
Evil Genius
FTL: Advanced Edition x3
King of Dragon Pass
Legend of Grimrock x2
S2: Silent Storm Gold Edition x2
Sam & Max: Beyond Time & Space
Shadow Man
Shattered Haven
Still Life
Tiny & Big Grandpa’s Leftovers
Torchlight
Trine 2: Complete Story
Wasteland 1

If you'd like to stay in touch via other means, shoot me a PM :)

Edit: I'm off to sleep. Will check back tomorrow if I have time and will wait for a few responses before starting to dish out the codes, unless of course you jump out as one of those people I've had a great time on GOG with and would really like to enjoy one or more of these games.

I'd like the copies of Legend of Grimrock and Aarklash in particular to go to people I will still be in touch with as those are the 2 games on my next to play list and I'd love to chat about the games whilst playing them. I started Legend of Grimrock yesterday and it is the exact nostalgic trip I was after reminding me of the Eye of the Beholder series.
Actually, because of your subject I thought your number would be 42. Seriously, it's a very nice thing you are doing here, and I'm sad to see you go. I would love to have conversations with you about Life, The Universe, and Everything. Maybe some day I will see you at the Restaurant At The End of the Universe and we can discuss the revisions to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy while eating a meal of Salmon of Doubt.
Until then, so long and thanks for all the posts.

tinyE: This is ridiculous! Pretty soon the only ones in here are going to be me and Judas and that's only because he's getting paid to be in here! :O

F4LL0UT: Don't worry, I'm staying too. That makes me wonder whether it's us, though, who make others hate this place.
And I´m staying too, someone needs to hold the perimeter :P. Honestly I don´t know what´s the evil that´s brewing in the forums, maybe due to the threads I go to, that are always "drama free", or at least I try to not go into the ones that are bound to call that kind of behaviour (you usually can tell that from the title of it) but I haven´t seen such a wave of social unadaptation around. Namely I´ve seen such behaviour in very specific threads, with very specific themes.

Tarnicus I thought this was a normal giveaway and I was going for "Book of Unwritten Tales: Critter Chronicles" but ONLY if you didn´t plan to play it, otherwise I´d feel like looting someone that fainted. :P
But if it eases your decision here´s a and then just another [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndN3QieDJ-U]one that exemplifies some of the thoughts below ( just forget it´s a commercial :P ).

And some people I regard as wise men said some things once that I think are relevant to these happenings:

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world."

"You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty."

"In the practice of tolerance, one's enemy is the best teacher."

"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win."

This is amazingly generous of you Tarnicus. I'd throw my name in for a game however I've been fortunate enough in the last few weeks with a handful of freebies in the forums so I'd rather to see others benefit from your generous offerings this time around instead.

When I look through the forums I see a bit of everything going on, but I generally try to focus mostly on the positive and neutral threads/people and try to steer away from other happenings that can take away from the overall good spirit. Hopefully GOG's website updates later this year will enhance the forums with better moderation controls and help to keep it a friendly comfy place.

Thanks for being a friendly voice and positive contributor, and hope you return. +1

It's always sad to see someone go, but the sadness is remedied slightly by a giveaway :)

I'd like S2 and/or Eador: Genesis; Thanks for the giveaway!
I don't really understand why you'd go away from the forum... Good luck to you though and thanks for such a massive giveaway.

If you have any spare Arcanum gift, I'd like to get one. Otherwise, I'll probably buy it next time it is on promo :)

Ouch, yeah, I didn't even think of that. I don't want to take a game away that Tarnicus was planning on playing, so same for me -- if you were planning on playing Divinity: Dragon Commander, keep it for yourself.

Why all the people are leaving!!
A small break is good, but don't abandon GOG just for few scammers and trolls!

Anyway, thanks for the generous giveaway, I'll list by preference the games I'm in for:
1- Divinity: Dragon Commander Imperial Edition
2- Book of Unwritten Tales: Critter Chronicles
3- Driftmoon

Well, see you again on the forums soon.

Not in.
Just sad to see you go.
As KneeTheCap wrote we'd rather see you stay but I completely understand your decision. Have fun and visit from time to time, maybe things will take a turn for the better.
that's very generous

i'd go for Wasteland or Shadowman
Sorry to see you leave - maybe one day you'll feel you can came back.

I'd like to have a shot at getting Eador: Genesis or Age of Wonders.

Oh, and +1 for the GA - thank you :)

Same here. Maybe I'm more selective when it comes to the threads I participate in now but honestly? To me it feels like things have calmed down a lot and that makes these departures appear insane, as if they were caused by the lack of drama. Maybe people are just trolling us? They tell us about terrible things happening here while they are just bored because they haven't been called cunts or retards in a while? (honestly, I observed more of these slurs in 2011 when I joined than I do now)

Oh, and let me add that it DRIVES ME NUTS that people don't say what's bothering them, they just post a "lately things suck here, I'm going" without any chance for anybody else to grasp what's happening or to improve things. In my opinion that's just unfair to everyone else. It's not leaving with dignity, it's being an a-hole towards everyone who does not understand what's wrong. I still like the forums and it sucks that someone is suggesting that I shouldn't but isn't telling me why.

Oh, and lemme add that TinyE was also about to leave the forums once when some things were bothering him but he actually SAID what's bothering him and people convinced him that it's no big deal - and he's still around, he seems happy and the GOG community has kept one of its most remarkable and hilarious members.

Also I just had a few beers so I'm not sure everything I wrote makes sense.
