Hi goggers,
Sorry if this dont belong here but I found out that this site has one of best communities ever so why not to ask? Soon there will be awesome releases (Dead Rising 2,Arcania,Two Worlds 2,Drakensang,Fallout New Vegas, Civilization 5 and maybe even more I dont know about). But the problem is ,as titles says, I have money for one game only. Could anyone told me which one do you think is best of them and why? Again sorry if this will be considered as useless thread.
Depends on what type of game you like best. Personally, the only two that would interest me in that list are Two Worlds 2 and Drakensang. Not sure which I'd choose of those two. I'd have to read some reviews/previews, look at screenies, and generally gather more info before deciding what to jump on.

Out of those Civ V will last you the longest because... well it's Civ. It is one of the few games that has truly limitless replayability.
New Vegas will be just as mod friendly as Fallout 3 so thats another you will really get your money's worth out of as they are still working on mods for Fallout 3.
Dead rising would be my last choice as I expect it to be a huge amount of fun but will I still be playing it in 6 months? Unlikely.
The others the jury is out on.
From beta tester's notes, and general announcements, I'm getting very disappointed with Arcania. Slowly, but surely, the title is forming into Arcania - NOT in any way Gothic 4. So that's that.
I got kinda excited about Dead Rising above them all but as Delixe said it will be most like completed in week and then almost never played....Civ cant dissapoint but I mentioned it because its one of the major titles coming, I am more in mood for action or RPG.
Well, you could just use your money on older, cheaper releases: more games to enjoy while waiting to afford the latest ones. Just an idea....

Yeah id agree with King buy 3-5 older games at 6 to 10 each.... and wait for the current ones to price drop....
With the holidays around the corner there will be sales a plenty. So for me, I'd wait to get a better deal.
Dead rising, again looks fun but like Delixe said, would I play it in 6 months prolly not (unless i waited 6 months to buy it)
Go NV it is more action/rpg out of the bunch or wait. :)
Civ 5 should be a sure hit and guaranteed well-spent money.
I'm feeling that Fallout:NV might be a surprising classic though. Just maybe.
Arcania will probably not be ... quite there. Too consolized.

I think we are all hoping that is the case. However Navagon will be along soon to remind us all it's Obsidian making it and to look at their track record... yeah.

Anybody have few specific tips? Problem is I am just finishing JC2 and then nothing to play :(

The Mask of the Betrayer expansion to NWN2 proves that Obsidian can make some freaking awesome stuff when the time is right. I'm hoping it is with their take on Fallout.
Although I have to agree that it'll probably be okay enough, but nothing more.

Amnesia.
An added bonus is you'll be too scared to play both it and anything else again for a couple of months.

Arx Fatalis :) (that game kinda pissed me off lol but was fun while it lasted)
Settlers 2:) (HOLY poop, just the 10 normal maps can take 10-20 hours each that isnt counting the world mode, or other maps)
AoW (TBS :) But fun fun fun game can last a long time as well)

stonebro: Amnesia.

Thinking about getting fear 1, fear 2+dlc....its strange but I never tried it. Is it worth it?
Fear 1 is ok, but I don't think it's expansion packs are worth it. You get them bundled with the original game on steam, so it's not an issue with money, but with the time spent. It's just more of the same, but less polished. I haven't played Fear2 yet, and I don't think I ever will, so give it a go if you wish.

Get Penumbra or Amnesia instead. ;)
