I'm completely psyched! I can't wait to be incarcerated for life and finding out what prison is like first hand!

That totally sounds safe and unabusable!

Don't forget SOPA. Youtube might become a ghost town after it passes.(If it passes)

Edit: This seems to be similar to SOPA somehow:

"The bill, which also permits the Pentagon to wage cyberwars on domestic enemies of the state, is a serious violation of First Amendment human and civil rights, including freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Should the bill become a law, it could potentially hinder the movements of both Occupy Wall Street and the Tea Party campaign, as well as muzzle news outlets and independent whistleblowers from exposing government corruption."

I used to love martial law as a kid (the tv show, that is ;))
Do they have internet in military prisons? Who will play all my GoGs while I'm wasting away for using my freedom for silly things like voting, sharing an opinion, or saying "hi, jack" in an airport?

:p

Hopefully, this is all worst case scenario and won't be as bad as it sounds... still, any other countries have an extra bed, just in case?

Sounds like we won't have much of an internet for long:

"However, the Pentagon believes that "non-state actors increasingly threaten to penetrate and disrupt DOD networks and systems." To address this cyber threat, the Pentagon released a plan declaring the Internet a "domain of war," claiming how hostile groups "are working to exploit DOD unclassified and classified networks, and some foreign intelligence organizations have already acquired the capacity to disrupt elements of DOD's information infrastructure.""
Well...crap. And here I was earning my certification to teach in the U.S.

I wonder what New Zealand's qualification process is like?

The media frequently puts a bad slant on this stuff, and makes it sound like a bigger deal than it really is. Im not saying that that is necessarily what is going on here. Its just that there are always two sides to these things, and no matter how fare the author is trying to be, there is always some bias there.
Looks like it's time to move to North Korea. Oh wait...

What's up with these ridiculous laws that are being proposed lately? Seems like some government types are way too power hungry.

There's some truth to this. On the one hand, I think that people SHOULD be concerned about(or at least aware of) the possible implications of this bill. On the other hand, we're often too quick to make a huge deal about things, and more often than not it's an unrealistic reaction to something that turns out to be fairly pedestrian in practice. It's a fine line to walk.

That being said, in this case I think an overreaction is almost necessary in order to make damn sure that the government pays attention.

The masterminds decided to move the project "Iron Fist" along a little quicker. Rumors are, that people have noticed it.
