It's a worldwide service and the prices you see are the "UK price". =D
USD are just used because they're a universally exchanged currency.

I do always use a currency exchange rate website to see how much it is at the moment in Euro, if it too much, I do normaly wait for a day or two ;)

The prices for all games on GOG are the same for all regions, that is one of the selling points for GOG.

That's not true, GOG does charge in USD. That's why some banks charge an exchange fee.

If you ever need it for anywhere else though

Google has a handy currency converter using the formula

X (3 letter abbreviation for currency) in (3 letter abbreviation for currency)

For example

20 USD in NZD

Just enter it in Google's search bar and it will calculate the current exchange rate.

Wait... I'm getting contradictory information from your post.

The first statement is true... if the post was meant as a joke, sorry to ruin it.

Your buy here will be conversed into pounds by your bank. The conversion rate is the rate at the time of the transaction. Addiotional fees might apply, but that depends on your bank.

If I would buy a $9.99 charged game now, my credit card would be charged for 7.23 € + 1,75% exchange fee.

You would be charged for £ 6.23 + fees.

my apologies, it seems what I meant to say was: you will still be charged the same ammount based on the exchange rate but that will be converted and displayed in Pounds instead of US Dollars in your region and on your bank account

Aye, my bank charges an exchange fee of £1.50 every time I used it on GOG, that quickly added up. Using PayPal seems to avoid this issue, at least I haven't seen any additional charges, though there may be additional hidden costs.

When you pay by paypal, there are two options. You can either have paypal do the currency exchange, in which case they use their own exchange rate that is a bit higher than the real exchange rate. The other option is to pay in whatever currency you're being charged, but that will trigger your bank's exchange fee. If yours is £1.50 for every transaction then paypal is almost certainly cheaper.

$9.99 converted into gbp at current exchange rate, everyone pays $9.99 but when converted it varies, as already said paypal seems to remove any exchange rate charges whereas paying by card can cost up to an extra £2 (looking at you dunfermline bs)

Thought that might be the case with the higher exchange rate via paypal's method, but since I do so many separate small transactions it would come out cheaper, cheers for confirming it. :)
