So I came back to my desk and my bag was gone. Luckily the only thing I had of value in it was my kindle with I have now bricked (it also has a password on it, but you can never be to sure.) I'm mainly pissed as the office I work in requires card access, so he must of slipped in after someone.

There is a small sliver lining, as some one kept stealing food from my desk, I have a motion activated camera on my desk, which caught a picture of the guy stealing it. I have given it to security at the university I work at and tomorrow I'm going to give it to the police.

So given the list of things I could have had stolen I got of very lightly, (I think he stole a phone from someone else), and I just have to wait until Friday for my new kindle.

But there you have it, have a muffin stolen, "catch a thief", I'll update as this short tale goes on,

I've never used a kindle so pardon my ignorance, but is there any way to page a kindle (like a phone when you can't find it)? I could imagine doing so, hearing the beep, and relaize it's coming from the guy next to you.

Nice going with the motion activated camera, hope they catch the thief.

Side question, did you ever catch or atleast get a pic of the bugger who was stealing food from your desk?

We know it's not Garrett, at least. You'd have water on your camera otherwise.

Sadly my kindle was only wifi, so not easy to track, I mainly bricked it on the off chance he broke the password and could access my account details.

And no I didn't catch the food thief, the reason it was on today, was a friend told me that there was an odd guy in my bay who stole a sweet from my desk (hence assumed food thief again) I really should of locked the bag up at that point, but oh well. There is a small chance it is the food thief as these incidents were 2 hours apart (unless he was lucking around the building for all that time).

When you're having problems with people stealing your food, it's time to start spiking it with extremely hot hot sauce or marijuana if your company is about to have a drug test.

I was going to inject a muffin was laxatives, or something more fun (I have access to a full chemical lab)

Granted but a woman overturned a drug conviction arguing that it came from her bagel, at least in the U.S. I wouldn't go the drug route since he'd just turn around and point it to the OP since it came from him anyway.

I was actually joking. That was an episode of Seinfeld; I had no clue it really happened! :P

That's why you don't quote t.v. without looking it up first. Television on a whole is pretty uninspired, so stuff like that is based on real events. A woman was convicted on a drug charge for opium, and she took it to court arguing that it was caused by her poppyseed bagel (Which is concentrated in about 10 parts per million I think), she overturned the conviction after. Not sure if she got her job back.

There are actually apps you can use to track it, but they have to be installed prior to it being stolen.

Good luck to OP on getting it back. My daughter's was stolen a few months ago and the police basically told her she was out of luck, even though she knew the guys who stole it. :(

Hopefully your story will have a better ending.
