Contact Steam first - there might be a problem with their key issuance server [or whatever it is they use].

Sure, chances are they will just round robin you to contacting the developer [who will tell you to talk to Steam, etc] but it is worth a try.

Also make sure that A) you are putting the keys in the right spot [I don't mean to offend, I have made mistakes with what key goes where with some activation systems before /] and B) try removing any dashes from the key when entering [if present]
Noticed it was on sale today.

Asked myself two questions
1) Am I going to have enough time to play through it any time soon? No.
2) Has the DRM been patched out yet? No.

I think I'll skip it for now. If I some how end up with days or weeks worth of free time I can afford to buy it at full price then. I don't need to add it to my backlog.
DRM screw-ups like this happen pretty often in big Steam sales.
Oh... I'm a dumb... I was putting it in the wrong box.

Oh... okay

Heh, I have done that far too many times than I like to recall ;)
Good you got it working, I played that game a year and a half ago and loved it :) Need to replay to finish the storyline and go after the expansion though, might do that after skyrim :P
I thought the game was pretty overrated. It did some "old school" CRPG stuff and people were like "OMG A RETURN TO AMAZING," but the game around that was pretty meh and tedious I thought.

I played up to when you got the dragon form and entered that third area, then quit.

I dunno, the reviews make it sound pretty below average.

It seems like a good game to me, but I don't know much about it so far. The character customization was horrible though.

Well, I guess I mean overrated by the core PC RPG fanbase, which I somehow end up spending a lot of time listening to.

As much as I was disappointed by Oblivion I would say it was a much better game than Divinity 2, and I know right now a hundred RPG Codex members felt a mysterious pain in their chest.

I too played the first two areas and loved them both after getting dragon form the third area seemed rather dull and then the need to play reflex and timing games made it worse. I have not touched it in a very long while although it is on my hard drive still. I guess I have the hopes of returning to it at some point.
I think the issue people have with Div2 is that they see the new perspective being like that of oblivion, gothic, two worlds, etc. Then they think they game will have the same kind of open ended feel. To some extent it does, but I prefer to think of it as Divine Divinity with a different camera angle. Then it can more easily be accepted as just being a load of fixed areas to discover, and a few fetch quests.

Still, I found the storyline enjoyable, and it was nice to get a conclusion from DKS (the original without the extension has a lame ending), even if they did make the first part a bit too easy at the same time.
