As for PS3 exclusives, my answer is short: All of them. Sony is really way ahead of MS regarding exclusive titles.

My special recommendations for multi-platform titles are the following:

Vanquish

Nobody gives a crap about the story, but the gameplay is just so awesome. Probably the best game mechanics in a TPS I have ever seen.

Condemned 1 and 2

Two of the best horror shooters ever made IMHO. And by shooter I don't mean brainless blasting through waves of monsters, because you rarely shoot in this game and there aren't as many enemies as in most other horror shooters. It's slow paced and the thrill is based on atmosphere, not stupid jump scares or bloody gory mess. The first one was released on PC too, so maybe you have played it. The second one is at least as outstanding.

Shadows of the Damned

Another horror shooter, but this one has a totally different approach. It's a mixture of comedy (attitude) and horror (setting), with crude humor and lots of sexual innuendoes. If you're new to gamepad shooters, this one is beginners friendly because the gamepad controls are flawless.

Bayonetta

I personally thought it was overrated a bit, but 90% of mankind seem to love it, so chances are high you're of them.

Enslaved

Seems like you already have it, so you know why I love it. Not a giant on the gameplay side and with some technical flaws (heavy tearing), but adorable character design and a wonderful story with a remarkable ending.

Red Dead Redemption

Yeah, what can I say that hasn't been said yet? It's one of those true singleplayer experiences. Rockstar at its best. Go for the GOTY with the Undead Nightmare DLC.

Battlefield: Bad Company

The only singleplayer campaign worth playing in the BF series. It came out before every FPS wanted to be like CoD.

Okami HD

If you haven't played the PS2 or Wii version yet, be shure to grab it on PS3. It's a true gem in video gaming history. Unfortunately it's only available as a digital download on PSN.
Some of these were covered, I'll just give you my loved games and wishlist for the PS3. The once nice thing about consoles IMHO, is that you can often download the demo and give it a try before you buy. Additionally, you should get some amazing deals on sites like Amazon. tons of amazing games for less than $20.00 ;)

As I said, some of these are on my wishlist so, like you, I'll be trying them soon.

Condemned 2.
Uncharted 1,2,3
Lego Series (1080p on the PS3, perfect for couch/bed play without a mouse/keyboard).
Little Big Planet
Sly Collection
The last of us (coming soon)
Beyond two souls (coming soon)
Heavy Rain
Bioshock 2, 3
Prey 2 (coming soon)
Max Payne 3
Infamous
Alice Madness Returns
Prince of Persia collection
ICO collection

Gratz on the new toy ;)

F4LL0UT: (not counting the Atari 2600 my brother got for Christmas 1988)
In 1988? From some garage sale?

Sogi-Ya: Here is the upcoming game swaps on PS plus:

Sleeping Dogs and infamous 2 are on their way out, so get them now if you haven't, to be replaced with Human revolution tomorrow and Saints row 3 later in the month.
Thanks for the heads-up. Luckily I already have all of those game for PC except Infamous 2 of course. But I'll gladly buy a physical copy of that one.

Yeah, I know, that was pretty late. And yeah, my parents weren't doing too well at the time (they had just escaped communism for fuck's sake) but I'm pretty sure that it was a "new" one. :P But at least we also got an Amiga 500 soon and a 486 when it was still pretty darn awesome hardware and most people still seemed to have 286s and 386s at home.

Hmm, my bad. For some reason I thought you were from US, even though your avatar clearly states otherwise. :)

Anyway, what I really meant to ask (if you got it from garage sale), did you get a good collection of games with the Atari 2600? That's many times the sweet thing about buying some older pre-owned console, you might get quite a nice collection of games along with it.

Then again, when I was looking for an used PS2 (in fear that my current one would die at some point), unfortunately the games that were offered along with them were kiddies games and/or annual EA sports games that I have zero interest in. No JRPG fan selling his PS2, no siree...

I have sometimes also thought if I should buy either PS3 or XBox360 now with a sweet exclusive game collection (just like I bought both PSX and PS2 when they were already quite mature consoles), but for some reason it seems I'm skipping the PS3/XBox360 generation altogether. But who knows.

Not to start a console war here, but I really wish people would stop with the overhype for Sony's exclusives.

to this day I still do not understand what people see in Killzone or Uncharted

Uncharted is amazing! The gameplay is solid, but unoriginal. The real strength lies in the characters, writing, and storytelling. The only thing that can best it in my opinion are the Legacy of Kain games. Other than uncharted though, I totally agree with you. All of the other big PS3 exclusives are decent enough, but I wouldn't consider them must-have games.

As I said, I'm pretty sure it was a new one. It came bundled with the "32 Ganes In 1" cartridge. But we also got a few other games later on like Mario Bros., also I have quite a few Activision titles but they have hilarious German titles which do not at all resemble the original title - years later I discovered that this includes a few great Atari 2600 classics generally known by a completely different name. The "biggest" game I've got is Dark Chambers. It's pretty awesome, actually, for Atari 2600 standards. It DOES have dungeons to explore and stuff. ^^
Killzone and Uncharted aren't really indicative of all the exclusives Sony has put out. Neither interest me personally. As a former 360 owner, I liked their exclusive titles such as Forza, Kameo, Dead Rising, Saints Row 1, Earth Defense Force 2017, Eternal Sonata (for a time), Bullet Witch, Monster Madness: Battle for Suburbia and Onechanbara. It made it seem like the 360 was going to be the PS2 of this generation, with a little something for everyone. Then Microsoft decided to focus on nurturing titles like Halo and Gears of War, giving rise to the misconception that gamers are Mt. Dew swilling jock straps. After a while, I stopped seeing exclusive stuff I liked or even things I found remotely interesting. Now, as a PS3 owner, there aren't many exclusives but quite a few to make me happy with the system.

No problem. Although the profile doesn't tell you that at the time I lived in Germany (where I also grew up until I moved to Warsaw as a student).

F4LL0UT: Just added two games to my collection, Child of Eden and Enslaved. And special thanks to everyone who proposed Enslaved in this thread here, I hadn't really heard much about it and I would have probably skipped that one if it hadn't been for the recommendations by you guys. I've only beaten the first two chapters so far but I already love the game - the characters and the scenery are amazing. :)

The only thing that bothers me is that there's occasionally some serious frame drops, especially during the cutscenes. Almost made me wonder whether the Super Slim has weaker performance than earlier models. o_o

Sogi-Ya: It falls off a bit at the end, but that is because Bandai bought up Namco and kicked this project in the balls.

Still really amazing game, it just ends sooner than it should.

you are also looking at an early-ish UE3 game and in general that thing runs like ass, don't remember any frame rate issues in cinematic but the engine is more polished for Xbox than PS3.

*edit* I played the Xbox version, and no the slim PS3 isn't any less powerful; just cheaper materials for the casing (to cut costs) & top loading disk drive (the slot drive was also more expensive).
Yeah, I don't remember the 360 version having any framerate issues. Actually, that's the reason why I bought it on 360 instead of PS3.. because there were frame rate complaints for the PS3 version.

Oh yea, im not crazy about most of the PS3 exclusives, but the 360's selection of them could hardly be called a selection anymore. Gears of War is super douchey. I do love Halo though. The gameplay is great, and is very different from your standard modern military shooter. The main reason I love it so much is probably due more to it being decent military sci-fi though. Military sci-fi is the majority of the books I read. As weird as it sounds, there just aren't many video games that pull it off.

I'll be honest and admit I played a little Halo 3. It wasn't my cup of tea, but it wasn't a bad game. Much like Mass Effect, I couldn't get into it. Sci-fi in video game form is rarely my thing.
I highly recommend getting Pixel Junk Shooter. It was probably my favorite downloadable game on the PS3. If I had one myself, I'd get the sequel.

If you haven't gotten it already, get God of War 3.

I'll admit I only played Uncharted 2 and though i liked the puzzles, the main character and.. Chloe was it?

I feel that it wasn't the "OMG BEST GAME EVER" that most media outlets seemed to think
