reaver894: Ive heard good things about White Knight Cronicles
With this game i would like to note that if you look to play this game online you will not be able to for much longer as they are pulling the plug on online game servers June 18

Kyro44Alpha: Devil May Cry HD (Didn't really like 2 or 3)
Oh yeah, was always curious about the original game which some fans seem to treat as the best one of the series. Wasn't aware that it's available for PS3. Thanks for the hint.

Kyro44Alpha: The House of the Dead: OVERKILL™ Extended Cut (have not yet played my copy of the PS3 Version yet, but with the extra levels if it still plays as good as the Wii Version i would choose this as well) (Coarse Langauage abundant in this)
Was already wondering if there's any goot rail/lightgun shooters on PS3, especially since I have Move (and I've enjoyed previous installments a lot on PC). Thanks again.

Dang, would be Hellgate all over again. I also grabbed that one a few days before the servers were shut down (of course I was unaware of that fact when I bought it).

F4LL0UT: So, last week I finally got a PS3 which happens to be the first console I have ever owned (not counting the Atari 2600 my brother got for Christmas 1988). I have of course played on lots of consoles, some of which I had even borrowed for longer periods from friends but well, I've still got a lot of catching up to do.

So, I'm looking for suggestions which console or PS3 exclusives I should get.

So far I've grabbed:
Flower
God of War Collection 1
Infamous
Mortal Kombat (I know, soon to be ported to PC >.<)
Motorstorm
Resistance
Sports Champions 2 (was included with the console)

I've enjoyed God of War and Resistance quite a lot so I'm planning to complete the series, I'm also already planning to grab Gran Turismo 5, the Killzone series, Red Dead Redemption and maybe Heavy Rain (although I wasn't a big fan of Fahrenheit) and Lollipop Chainsaw. And of course Metal Gear Solid Legacy as soon as it gets out.

So, what are your suggestions for console/PS3 must-haves?

Whatever you do, get NieR

It's one of the most amazing games I have ever played, a truly unique and unforgettable experience

Looks amazing indeed. Will definitely try getting this one. :)
(and even if I won't like the story/gameplay - seems to have some epic butts and boobs ;P)
Persona 3: FES on PSN if you like jRPGs at all.

Hard to tell. Normally I don't but there's been a few jRPGs and jRPG-inspired games that I've really enjoyed a lot. And I've heard a lot of great things about PErsona 3

I personally didn't care for White Knight Chronicles. I didn't like how the avatar you made was aperently just along for the ride, and I don't like MMORPG gameplay in non MMORPGs. It should be noted that those are both things I hated about Final Fantasy XII (There was no avatar character, but the main character was just along for the ride as well), so my opinion is probably best disregarded.

If you do go for White Knight Chronicles, make sure you just get White Knight Chronicles 2. It includes the original game, so its just a waste to get both.
Here are some games that haven't been mentioned:

Shadow of the Colloussus + ICO collection
Folklore
Dead Nation (great game for the co-op)
Hard Corps Uprising (another great game for the co-op)
Catherine (must have if you like puzzle games)

The Uncharted and Infamous series are my favorite exclusives, so definitely get them first.

That's how i got my copy, but i did not like it for those reasons and a few others (i played it for about 2 weeks - probably get back to it when all my better games ar finished), but everyone ends up with at least one or two games that didn't like

spoderman: Folklore
so how interesting is it i do have a copy, but i am yet to play it.

i bought like 30 or so games when they had become inexpensive so by the time i bought my PS3 i had a considerable backlog because the ps3 was at the time was priced higher than i wanted to pay.

Hmm, not sure if you will like them, but my suggestions are:
inFamous 1 & 2
Killzone 3
Resistance 3
Starhawk
Uncharted 1, 2 & 3
The Last of Us (coming out soon)

spoderman: Shadow of the Colloussus + ICO collection
Ah, indeed, totally forgot about that one. I've played both of them at a friend's place, ICO just a few weeks ago. I certainly like both of them, Shadow of the Colossus probably more.

spoderman: Folklore
Actually this one has already been mentioned. ^^

spoderman: Dead Nation (great game for the co-op)
Ah yes, played the demo at a friend's place. In fact in co-op mode with my girlfriend. ^^ Will probably grab it as soon as I get a second controller.

spoderman: Hard Corps Uprising (another great game for the co-op)
Thanks for this one, haven't even heard about it yet.

spoderman: Catherine (must have if you like puzzle games)
I'm always wondering how good this one is. All I hear all the time is "it's just a puzzle game", like that's automatically a bad thing. Yeah, I enjoy puzzle games and I'm actually intrigued by the game's plot. Guess this one has just found its way to my list.
Nobody mentioned Heavenly Sword, so check that out...pro tip : turn off the 6 axis controls. They also made Enslaved.

valkyria chronicles

Dragons Dogma its multiplatform, but you can use pawns from other PSN or XBL players, you're welcome to use mine free if you want.

Yeah, already ordered Infamous (should be here on Tuesday). Played it for an hour or two on a friend's console and it was pretty awesome, can't wait to give it a serious try. As for Uncharted - well, it can wait for now. I was very unimpressed when I tread it.
Okay i'm going to recommend this one even though it might not be a popular recommendation:

Final Fantasy XIII

I really liked it even though it was very linear. I liked the battles, I liked the story and the graphics were amazing and so were the prerendenrend HD cutscenes. It's really cheap now too.

Agreed on Dragon's Dogma. Pick up the Dark Arisen version. I had enormous fun with this game.
