According to my RFGeneration profile, I have 419 console games.

But that's not counting my Steam, GOG, digital and physical PC games (mostly because they don't have them in the database, so I have to add them myself)... if I counted those, I think I'd be very close to 1000 games...
You could certainly play them all without too much trouble, finishing them is another matter.
I depends really, there a lot of them you could probably play for a time but never put the time in to finish, maybe that's ok.

How about once in a while you set aside an hour to try out one of the games you haven't touched. Use a random generator to choose one. If you like it, play some more until you’re done and want to move on or the game reaches the end. With so many games there are bound to be a few you only end up playing for a short time. That can be ok, at least you actually spent some time with them and your money didn't total go to waste. Hell with so many to try maybe you should leave actually finishing them to the really great games you can't bear to put down. Games can take a lot of time after all, no point investing that time if you’re only doing it not to feel bad because you haven’t played enough to where you feel you got your moneys worth. It's only a huge obstacle because you’re envisioning yourself spending the vast amount of time it would take to actually play all the way through them.

If you absolutely must finish them all you need to stop buying so many games.

Alright, I'm shamed and a little embarassed. Definitely went over my head there, and forgot what a hardcore gaming community GOG is. I love you guys.

To reply to people that suggest that I am buying games for the sake of buying, I have to disagree: I've frequently passed up a lot of good deals because I simply didn't want the games in question. Out of my whole collection, only about 5-10% of games cause me to feel buyers' remorse. My backlog is so big because I am a man that believes that variety is the spice of life, so there are a lot of different games that I fancy to play.

Still, there is a lot of stuff I want to do besides gaming. So many dreams to fullfill and skills to learn. I think that I should play less. Then I understand that I cannot imagine spending the time I spent gaming doing anything else, and that time spent indulging in your favourite form of intertainment is not, in fact, time wasted. So I say to myself: "No, Sinisterwing, you've gotta play MORE".

Damuna: Foxhack, do you have a Backloggery account? I know I've seen you liking Changeloggery posts on Tumblr, so it may be that you're waiting for registration to reopen like I am.
Yeah okay STOP STALKING ME AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

:p

Edit: I don't use Backloggery to list the games I own because uh, it reminds me I still have a lot of games I've never beaten. ^^; I only list the games I've beaten there.

Sinisterwing: So I went on and created a MS Access database listing all of my games. And boy, it took me a while. I inputed not only the titles, but also the genre, theme, type, my rating and other things. I knew it would be quite a bit of work, but I started it none the less.
I did the EXACT thing just a week or so ago, after I got sick and tired of waiting for the Backloggery to open again. I made a DVD database too, but still haven't filled that out yet.

I have:
206 games, 80 completed, 63 incomplete, 38 not started, and the rest are not applicable for a completion status (e.g. TF2).

133 are on Steam, 18 on GOG (not including free ones), 48 on physical media, 12 on Impulse, and 10 elsewhere.

I figure I shouldn't be buying more games until I lower some of those incomplete/not started status counts (to be honest, I've simply given up on a lot of those games marked as incomplete). Not a bad way to save some money right now I suppose.

Well... I figured I'll just put them in a separate database in the same Access file, that way I'll have one place where I can browse both my game and DVD collections. It may be a little more work, but it's not that bad.

Damuna: What? I follow the Changeloggery, since I'm waiting for the Backloggery's registration to reopen. I think I noticed you because I recognised you as a GOG member, and I found your site after checking your Tumblr or something along those lines.
Yeah, I'm KIDDING.

Besides, this name is pretty uncommon, and I get a lot of "Hey you're that guy!" comments. :)
I'm not sure how much is too much, but I reached that a long time ago. I tend to share my collection with friends, mind you, but it's still excessive!

I started a backloggery in August of '08 and gave up updating it shortly around the time I joined GOG, and the last change I made was the day after my birthday at the beginning of the year, apparently. I have a few hundred games on there, and that's made worse for the fact that I never bothered adding most of my digital download PC games to the list.

I've been working on a spreadsheet myself, though conversely, this one only has my PC games listed. I'll figure out just how many games I own soon, cringe in horror, avoid thinking about what the monetary cost must have been entirely, and just be glad that I've actually played and enjoyed most of them, and the ones that I haven't, my friends have enjoyed...
...And now I play the waiting game.
Hey, Drumble's health is finally improving!

Yay!
I buy and sell my 360 games rapidly so I dont obtain a backlogue and sell a few more on top so I can get any new releases im after. Mainly because I need to sell the old ones to get the new and Im against keeping clutter.

Though that theory went to shit recently and I have 16 games im trying to get through.
26 360 games(16 + 10 ntsc games i cant play because my american xbox died again)
1 ps3 game
Steam 60 Games(mainly sale though I use an ebay vendor and can get most newer ones for $25 which is ideal for a poor brit hooked on gaming)
GOG 14 Games
Retail 4
