GameRager: In America people get arrested and punished for accidental killings all the time. In war it should be no different, both being punishable in some way that is. The fact is the people in charge/etc didn't do it once but several times over. This wasn't a one time "Oops, we're sorry" kinda deal.
lukipela: You are correct, however, we dont prosecute the manager at pizza hut if one of his driver's runs someone over. This is what you are asking. /Random law knowledge

GameRager: The higher ups who approved and the people who interpreted it wrongly before handing it on to the higher ups in these cases. It's their jobs, after all, to make sure the intel is accurate and to prevent these situations from happening.
And again, i'm not naive. Yes, some collateral damage can occur in war, but the amount that's happened so far in Iraq is nothing short of criminal in my eyes. As I said before this isn't a one time thing or a rare occurance...if it were we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I'm talking about the ones caused by "friendly fire accidents", naturally. Even without all the rest caused by other things the number is still higher.

I can't believe I'm actually agreeing with you, but this is exactly the reason why I refuse to celebrate the death of Bin Laden. Many are claiming that his death is retribution for 9/11, but 9/11 was in fact retribution for the thousands of Iraqi innocents killed by the US Army. Retribution is wrong; both sides are as bad as each other.

lukipela: So, are you admitting you have no actual number when you claim the civilian death count attributable to FF incidents is higher than the 9/11 body count?

1. I haven't checked in awhile so I don't remember the exact count.....but alot of news sources at the time said(and I checked and verified) that the totals for friendly fire civilian kills was higher than the number who died on 9/11.

Lockmat: http://www.iraqbodycount.org/ The number of civilian deaths in Iraq is between 100,622 and 109,919, a direct consequence of the occupation.
In total 3,497 people died in the attacks on 11 September 2001, and that includes the terrorists.

So the boogieman of the first decade of the 21st century is dead. At this point.... I don't think his death will mean more than catharsis to some people.

oldschool: Calling someone is idiot because you dont agree with them is pretty ignorant. Imho, Bin laden didnt have the proper resources to pull off an attack of that magnitude.
nondeplumage: GOG is having a special tin foil hat promo this weekend. I'd jump all over that, if I were you. Oh, and that tim foil hat you mentioned earlier, you know what you can do with that right?

Wait, you're applying the theory that he's acting childish in his argumentations, and yet when he then stoops to where you want him to be, you continue to disapprove? You indirectly asked him to act like that in any case.
Besides, Guile's Theme Goes With Everything (lukipela's argumentation). Find the music track yourself :p
