Kabuto: Getting it for ten cents was great. I'm glad I payed so little because AOE3 doesn't hold a candle to AOE2. Still fun, but not as good as AOE2.

Parvateshwar: My rating for AOE games goes as follows, from best to worst: AOM, AOE 2, AOE 1, AOE 3, AOE Online.

This doesn't bode well for those of you who wish to see AOE games on GOG, if the owners aren't willing to drop their price to accommodate GOG's simple payment scheme then they probably shouldn't be here. I don't think $9.99 is that bad a profit for a game that is half a decade old but obviously the publishers don't agree.
I can say even more. Someone from MS staff said on steam that AOE1 and AOE2 are not supported by MS anymore and probably won't be.

AOE and AOE2 are bundled in every Walmart in America for $10.
aoe 3 had some pretty big stories, the major flaw it has is that it became no longer what everyone liked in aoe aka place a building, gather troops and fight. they made it complex and boring with the colony rules, if it was any simpler it would have been awesome
I've paid a lot more to track down used copy's of hard to find games. Im actually ok paying that price for ANY game if Its something I really want to play. I view games sort of like movies. Ill pay based on how much I like it, not how old it is. Im not actually interested in this particular game though. Im just making a point is all.

But this is something that usually applies to everything on the market, most products tend to become cheaper with time. Only when it gets really old and becomes rare that prices go up.

For an old digital title, this is an insane pricing. I would be ok by paying 20 dollars on a new physical copy, but for a digital title it just isnt worth that much in my opinion. I mean, cmon, digital titles tend to be much cheaper. Deus Ex 3 was released a few months ago and was sold for 10 dollars on Amazon a few weeks ago. AOE 3 is 6 years old now, cmon.

This, they have all the expacs too.
Anyone know if AOE and AOE 2 run okay in Windows 7 64 bit? Maybe I should visit my local Walmart sometime.

Haven't tried AoE yet, but 2 runs perfectly for me.

They do, at least my Collector's Edition (containing both games) do.

AOE runs fine apart from the 256 colour thing that forces you to close explorer before you play.

(Right, I forgot that it runs in 256 colours.) Or just keep the "change resolution" window open.

If you have somebody from Russia to help you, let them gift you AOE3.

I've just played multiplayer game. It's an awesome game. Multiplayer is revived after coming to steam. Around 1700 players online at this moment. Easy matchmaking (well, sorta, you host may declare game "ranking" to determine what kind of players are welcome and you have your "home city lvl" which increases the more games you play)

Great game. I will play hundreds of hours, after my winter exams :P
Thats great. now just to find someone from Russia that is there. Wont be easy since almost all Russians I know are in China now. Plus I checked price of AOE3 in Poland and complete is like 35 euro - wow.

Yep, the PC section becomes more and more barren but I still see the AOE collection on the shelf, since I bought back in like 06-07 I think.

Thanks very much. That's good to know. I'll have to take a look for them.
