AOE 3 is on Steam and it's £30...there is currently a 50% off sale so it's £15 but does anyone else think that's a bit much for a game which is over 6 years old? And I assume for Americans it is $40 and $20 with the sale which is even more outrageous. But even so, there are much better games from 2005/6 which are half that price, where do they get off charging so much?

But then again I checked the Microsoft website and AOE 2 is £35! I hate to see what AOM would be, it's probably gained value over original market price!

They still charge $19 for AOE3 alone on sale ($49 retail) at EB here.

Actually AOE3 is from 2009... but still I think it's too much for that game.

It's a lot of content and a game that holds its value well. It was the top seller all day when it came out, so I guess consumers agree.

About a year ago you could get the game with all expansions for only 10 cents on windows marketplace. Good times...

Same here, for 10 cents it would be hard to pass up. $19 is too much though IMHO.

Getting it for ten cents was great. I'm glad I payed so little because AOE3 doesn't hold a candle to AOE2. Still fun, but not as good as AOE2.

The game sucks. Disgrace to Age of Empires.

10 cents wasn't even worth it since is forced Games For Windows Live on your computer.

I have the retail version, i think it doesn't need GFWL to play online and offline. But that was back in 2009.

My rating for AOE games goes as follows, from best to worst: AOM, AOE 2, AOE 1, AOE 3, AOE Online.

This doesn't bode well for those of you who wish to see AOE games on GOG, if the owners aren't willing to drop their price to accommodate GOG's simple payment scheme then they probably shouldn't be here. I don't think $9.99 is that bad a profit for a game that is half a decade old but obviously the publishers don't agree.

A few different companies are selling AoE1+2+Expansions for less than $10. Same with AoM. Mythology even ships with the same cd key for every disc. So I don't know why GOG couldn't fit in there somewhere someday.

I'm pretty sure you can just back up the installer and key, remove the client, and never bother with the client again, even when reinstalling. That's quite a few steps better than Steam in my book.
