Grargar: I guess it was the recent announcement of Bohemia Interactive's departure from GOG in 22 June.
I hadnt heard of that one. Why would they do such thing?

I hadn't heard that either but didn't they leave once before?

They're like a bipolar girlfriend.
Ah I just looked up one of the games on the forums:
http://www.gog.com/forum/arma_series/nosteam_noupdates_for_all_bohemian_interactive_games

Apparently they're all going to do updates for Steam in the future, which means GOG won't get any newer patches which means that they can't join multiplayer servers. They do get Steam keys though.

See this sort of thing would have been useful to have in the OP! :P

The thing is that not only the ARMA games, but also Original War is going to be removed even if it's not using any kind of Steamworks features.
Link.

triock: Cake is a lie!
Now you've done it! Don't blame me for the next groaner, for you brought this upon yourself!
There used to be cake. Then, there was lie.

Edit: Fixed wrong link.

Reading more about it, this is to do with GameSpy shutting down, yes? So they've moved over to using Steam's servers instead?

ChrisSD: Seriously, was this prompted by Guilty Gear again? Why don't people ever name the game when they start topics like this?! :P Every time they always make vague statements about "trends" but don't tell you no facts.

I demand facts! And cake!
You won't regret the cake, at least.

@thread topic: just buy the games you want, and let them worry about [blank].

You need to be cool about this. Whilst I hope that the new Galaxy from Gog will sort these kinds of issues out, there are one or two posts in the gog arma thread that say this is nothing to worry about, i.e., there will still be ways to connect to servers without having the latest version.

Grargar: Arx Fatalis.

HypersomniacLive: Jokes aside, this one seems to be in actual danger.
Well that would stink. Since it's very popular and have yet to add it, well, I must add it then!
All of them. All of the games are going to be removed from GOG. =P

I was extremely fortunate and blessed to get it as a gift from my (not so) Secret Santa for Christmas 2013. :-)

Recent announcement that ArmA and Original War will leave GOG (Both I own on GOG and Steam already), which lead to me looking at all the games GOG lost over the years (about 19 in total, not counting ArmA).

I'm aware this happens at every DD store, it still irks me Steam took down Wolfenstein 2009 and Quake Wars :S

However, when it happens to GOG, it's really sad, since I see this place as a game museum of sorts.

What a shame.

foxworks: Nice! :D
Nice doesn't start to cover it, as my Secret Santa spoiled me with his gifts! :-)

EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm talking about this event here on GOG.
