GOG is great, and so is their customer service from what everyone's told me (I've never had to deal with them myself).

A game for every gamer? Man, that's tough... Dust: An Elysian Tale really surprised me lately, and it appeals to people of all ages. I would say that is one that would be enjoyed by most.

Another would be Treasure Adventure Game, which is free here. It was a blast, and had a lot of aspects that were fun- discovery, treasure hunting, humor, cartoony graphics, amusing story, etc. I liked it a lot and it became one of my favorites here despite being free.

For me it's definitely Deus Ex! I looked for P1na's post expecting to see his recommendation as well and I wasn't disappointed. So there you have it; the most important game to have on your shelf is Deus Ex because to random people on the internet like it ;)

Alan Wake is by far my favorite game of all time. The visuals are beautiful and the story is engaging and intelligent.

Saints Row 2 (though you'll need a mod to get it to work) is one of the best open world games.

Universe Sandbox is a really fun and relaxing game that I'd recommend to anyone who likes looking at space.

GOG are awesome. But not as awesome as Sacrifice, which is a must-have for any real games, if only to remind us that you can have a real game, that can also be art at the same time, as opposed to the crappy gameplay-less "art" games all sorts of idiots churn non-stop nowadays...
