Roman5: I don't think anything else needs to be said here
BOOOOOORRRRIIIINGGGGGG.
The funniest part is I think the base price of $59.99 is too much, let alone a collectors edition for $150.
The standard retail edition is already overpriced. No wonder the Collector Edition is far more overpriced. Take consideration about the hype and demand too.

Here's what I think needs to be said.

What happened to the days where cloth maps, soundtracks etc came "free" with CE editions and the CE editions used to be priced around $90 AUD?...thats going to be close to $200AUD...*ouch*...
Give me an art book and a soundtrack in my CE. I don't need anything else. Paper maps should come standard with the regular edition.

wow, someone sounds pretty mad

Skyrim may be a fantastic game when it will be released (not likely at this point but who knows) however the image that I posted should make it clear what exactly is bethesda's attitude towards gamers and what is their idea of "Value"

The map should be in every copy of the game, just like in every other elder scrolls game before that, not with pre-orders, not with collectors editions - with every copy
I've been a gamer for a long time and I could never afford to buy Collector's Edition at launch, they are just too expensive. The amazing thing is that they must sell fairly well for companies to continue to offer them. There must be many gamers ready to buy them at any price.

Does anyone know the minimum system requirements? I've tried several sites, but no one has it listed.
Yeah, that price is pretty laughable. Personally I think the folks at Bethesda have been drinking their own kool-aid a bit too much, and have an unrealistic assessment of what kind of following their games command, and what people are willing to pay and willing to put up with (which isn't helped by the fact that the way they moderate their forums basically ensures it's just a giant echo chamber for the most rabid of fans). But I suppose only the amount of sales following release will prove me right or wrong on this.

I've personally written off Skyrim until it drops into the sub $10 range (due to the Steam requirement), but I'll still be a bit curious to see how the legacy left by Oblivion ends up affecting the sales of this latest TES installment.
Maybe they're trying to drum up some extra cash to sue Notch...

ba-dum-dum!

lukaszthegreat: if the dragon was metal. that would be a bit high but acceptable price.
is book leather covered?
It's handmade in Taiwan by the most skilled child laborers from the flesh of a thousand inbred unicorns that have fed on the tears of orphans for a decade before being injected with a enough tranquilizers to kill an elephant and then some.
Well they missed their chance to offer a replica Umbra sword that actually steals souls. *sigh* Guess I'll have to pass and wait for the eventual release of Baldur's Gate III. Maybe they'll include Lilarcor.
I reckon its too cheap. The idiots that lap this shit up could definitely pay another $50 if you throw in a few more goodies like paper craft dolls, playing cards, medallion, useless map and other crap ;-)

Bethesda doesn't care if you don't want the collector's edition, because someone else will buy it. It's called a collector's edition. They're not forcing you at gunpoint to buy it.

Also, TES is a well-known series of games. They could fill the box with a DVD and a pile of dog shit, charge double what they are charging now and they'd still get sales. I'm not saying The Witcher isn't popular, but it's a relatively new series and so I would expect them to bend over backwards a little bit to get a sale for a collector's edition.
low rated
Hopefully that faggot game is good. If it is not.. Well.. Someone made a stool, in their pants.
