Hey guys, what's the cheapest Nivida card able to run Skyrim at normal speed? Thanks in advance.

I don't know about NVidia, but I'm running it half decently on an ATI Radeon HD3450, AGPx8 with 512MB VRAM.
P4 single core - hyperthreading (badly) a second core...2GB PC3200 RAM.
800x600 on medium textures - with a few minor tweaks to remove bugs and bottlenecks :\
I can crank it up to 1024.768 but it gets a little jittery.

EDIT : Try this website for said tweaks if you've a similarly old machine - works wonders!

I don't even have a 210. It's an el cheapo NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430.

ATI cards are better if you're on a budget. They're essentially the most bang for your buck, whereas Nvidia are less efficiently priced but better if you're willing to pay.

Bethesda is known for being brilliant programmers -- especially in the graphics department. You can get beautiful graphics on almost any gaming graphics card recently made -- and probably on non-gaming graphics cards.

Check PassMark for anything over a score of 325 to run Skyrim on low settings well.

You'll hit good medium-high settings around 1200 or so.

All that said, I'm assuming you have a decent system so that the graphics processor will be what slows it down. You'll want something with at least a bit of zip (not a Pentium III 350MHz powerhouse :D).

to get the most bang for your bunck. For $66.99, you can get a GeForce GTS 450 and run that puppy on really good settings.


Side Note: Don't forget to have a power supply that can run the card, too.

It runs decently (actually, better than Oblivion) in my Geforce 9500.

Lowest I've seen it run on was a 7600GT. Some stuttering, but it was quite playable.

FWIW if any Radeon players have the same query, I played it on Radeon HD 5450 and had no problems.

I've been playing it on a Radeon 5670, which isn't a super budget card, but it lets me play on high settings at 1360 X 766 resolution.

Think I will get a GTX 550 Ti 1GB. They are low enough now.
