and for the tipic at hand,I'll like to talk about the unnecessary "remakes" that developers give us,all the while not understanding or caring(or both) why those games were a success.case in point:Syndicate, painfully average shooter(though it has a kickass soundtrack)

l0rdtr3k: why am I boycotting Star Citizen, since the game is being made just to prove how better PC gaming is in terms of graphics capability(graphics aren't everything, why so many gamers and companies thing they are?)
man,what a hypocrite :P
monkeydelarge: Well she only played the Sims games like once a year. man, what a hypocrite :P

She believes that people who play video games often(like everyday) are losers. And she believes the ones who play the violent video games(Killerspiel) are crazy violent losers. :( So she isn't really a hypocrite. I should of been more clear. And the world would be better off without people like her, definitely... :)and for the tipic at hand,I'll like to talk about the unnecessary "remakes" that developers give us,all the while not understanding or caring(or both) why those games were a success.case in point:Syndicate, painfully average shooter(though it has a kickass soundtrack) l0rdtr3k:

Klumpen0815: Sadly my GF thinks that video games are a waste of time,
rather than art like they are for me. :'-(
Many people still think this way. *sigh*
How do you check out the video game collection if he mostly buys from GoG.com?
Is there a way to make your GoG-library official?
monkeydelarge: My ex girlfriend(German) didn't like video games. She said only losers and crazy violent people play video games... She made an exception for the Sims games though... rather than art like they are for me. :'-(

Mu current gf thinks it's a waste of time and guess what she plays "The Sims" and "Creatures1+2".
At least I got her to play "Thomas Was Alone". ;)
Indiegames need more love and video games should be recognized as a high form of art now.
No wonder why this does not work, most major games are as crappy as hollywood movies.
There is a reason why the majority of my movie collection is from somewhere else too...
PS: I'm an artist myself, musician, instrument maker and martial artist (traditional German sword fighting styles), nobody calls me a loser, at least not until they know how "much" I am earning. xD

Actaully it is the opposite that is true. I've recently needed to do a little research for a college paper, and I found many professors saying that violent video games are one of the reasons of the drop of violent crime rates, because peolpe are given the option to "live out their desires" within the game.@('_')@

monkeydelarge: Makes sense. A thousand years ago during the dark ages, people were not able to live out their desires within games so look at what happened... In Viking society, you could legally hack someone to death with a battle axe for pissing you off without any warning if you had the money to pay his family afterwards for their loss. Before the dark ages, because Romans couldn't play violent video games, slaves(gladiators) had to kill each other all the time to amuse them... One could say, violent video games saves lives...and makes the world a more civilized place...
Well if I can choose between having violent video games in shops, and carrying a battle axe with me whenever I have to go home after dark, I choose video games :P@('_')@

Fenixp: I wouldn't mind remakes per se, but at least do with some naming conventions! The new Thief was the worst:
Square Enix: "Oh, we'll call it Thi4f so it's clear it's a fourth game and so we have a cool looking name!"
Fans: "Fuck off, that's rubbish!"
Square Enix: "Oh ok, Thief it is then."
Fans: "But .. .. Oh nevermind"
Heh, that's probably a fair summary of what happened. But at least Thief: The Dark Project wasn't simply called "Thief", so the new Thief not completely ambiguous, like Syndicate or XBox One.Square Enix: "Oh, we'll call it Thi4f so it's clear it's a fourth game and so we have a cool looking name!"

MadyNora: Many people find me "weird", and "too-tomboyish" because I prefer playing games over going to parties, or doing "girlie stuff", like shopping, or spending hours choosing clothes (wich I find to be a waste of time).
There is no such thing as "too-tomboyish" and in my book the weird ones are those who expect you to do so-called "girlie stuff" just to fit in. :P It's pretty ironic though how many people criticize others for wasting their time without feeling the need to reflect on how "meaningful" and "worthwhile" their own pastimes, hobbies and passions are. This "waste of time" is hardly ever a well-meaning reminder to do something with your life and become a happier person, but rather a snide way to tell others "my hobbies are cooler than yours (and the majority agrees with me)".

Fenixp: Yeah, naturally there is. Bad game is a bad game whereas bad indie game is a bad game which doesn't have a publisher. The gap there in the gameplay itself is absolutely massive, I am sorry that I have ever doubted you.
This made me laugh. MadyNora: Many people find me "weird", and "too-tomboyish" because I prefer playing games over going to parties, or doing "girlie stuff", like shopping, or spending hours choosing clothes (wich I find to be a waste of time).
Bimbo: Like, I was at targé the other day and there was totally this awesome dress and I was like "I am totes gonna buy that!" Me: I am sorry to interrupt but can you please give me my Grand Angus Burger? I need to get going in my Tuesday Porsche (I have one for every day of the fortnight) so I can get back to making a buck ton of money while I play golf. Oh look! Here's my boy-friend.. Sorry.. My fiance! *Enter big, strong, rich, handsome guy who is unbelievably faithful loves to cook*

Have to disagree with 3.
Some people like hard games, some like easy.
For some X game is hard, for some it is easy.
Games should be available for people of all skill levels. Your "fail-proof difficulty" may be impossible for someone else and your "too high difficulty" may be a cake walk for someone else.
What you're really asking for is "Games that cater to my skill level."

To solve this is to use more options than just easy, normal or hard like a slider for 5 or more things that are important in the game like resources or AI "smart" level. I believe Expeditions Conquistador has this feature.
