Thanks to our high-tech, magical device we've managed to extend the month of April till the 35th to bring you the new and exciting site update as promised in late April (some of you believe it's May already, but you're wrong ;)). As we teased last week, we have to take the site down for a short maintenance tomorrow (Thursday) to put up all the new and slick features.

We're expecting the downtime to be sometime around 3AM EDT (or 7AM GMT) and should only be a few hours. During this time you won't be able to buy or download your games on GOG.com, this means the maintenance will effectively prevent you from taking advantage of the GOG.com Gem Promo. That's why we're going to extend it for as long as the maintenance will last.

Be sure to come back tomorrow and check the new features as well as to see what's the last secret release from Atari - and now speculations begin!

gyokzoli: Should I have a PM button now?
Yes, it should appear next to the Online/Offline indicator. If you have the GreaseMonkey script for the unofficial GogPM system, disable it, as that uses the same space for PM sending.
EDIT: And if you don't have that script, try force-reloading the page.

Yeah, I had to reload the page with CTRL+F5.

joshykins: Excellent point! Yeah now that I think about it, it would make sense to hold off on NWN 2 unfortunetly. One can always dream!
And one always should :) GoG HAS been known to surprise us ;)

What better test for the new downloader than something that is in the 7-8 GB range.

I pressed Ctrl+F5 and then the PM buttons appeared for me. Great new feature, GOG. I guess GogPM won't be used so much anymore, but I'll keep it running so that everyone still has access to their messages.

It's already been mentioned a couple of times on this thread, but the PM button is at the same place as the "send PM" link that you get if you are running my GogPM Greasemonkey script, so it would be best to disable the script for now. I'll update the script later today to resolve the conflict.
Good job GoG! I really like the new PM system.
And thanks for the free game too.

The PM system was amazing for it's time and I admired all the work you put into it.

Thanks, GameRager. I really do appreciate that.

Hey, you stole my words!
With the exception I still admire it. ;-)
This is great.

@GOG, any chance of giving us the option to share our wishlist?

EDIT: Also, Dragonsphere's forum is missing an icon.

For those using an IPad or smartphone: You may need to push your finger on the avatar of the member you wish to PM, the icon should appear then.

Oh, and thank you GOG! GOG PM is a great service, but it is nice to finally have an integrated private messaging function. Now I can't wait to get home and try out the new downloader with Dragonsphere!

Venom: It should work better now, after downtime the system needs a moment to warm up
I feel all alone now, just sitting here at work with nobody to send a PM to

Wouldn't it be simpler for GOG to add to their catalogue an option to buy "code for a 9.99 game" and "code for a 5.99"

One could buy it and send to another person, this way recipient could choose a game, and GOG wouldn't have to create whole "sharing wishlist" thing.

A "Gift Of Games" certificate sounds like a great idea.
Wow! Neato!
Thanks You GOG for pushing the site in the right direction.
And thank You for Dragonsphere, perhaps now i'll have the will power to finish it.
And thank You Barefoot_Monkey for the awesome GOGPM service!

IIRC it was a deliberate decision so that people would have to interact and actually discuss what games would be given.

Personally, it would be much more convenient for trades to be able to do that. There was also the complication of how precisely to handle sales.
