Thanks to our high-tech, magical device we've managed to extend the month of April till the 35th to bring you the new and exciting site update as promised in late April (some of you believe it's May already, but you're wrong ;)). As we teased last week, we have to take the site down for a short maintenance tomorrow (Thursday) to put up all the new and slick features.

We're expecting the downtime to be sometime around 3AM EDT (or 7AM GMT) and should only be a few hours. During this time you won't be able to buy or download your games on GOG.com, this means the maintenance will effectively prevent you from taking advantage of the GOG.com Gem Promo. That's why we're going to extend it for as long as the maintenance will last.

Be sure to come back tomorrow and check the new features as well as to see what's the last secret release from Atari - and now speculations begin!
Neverwinter Nights 2: Platinum

whodares2: Hmmm....So if the "improved friend'" isn't the downloader then what....? Is Operation Flashpoint finally making a return? Doubtful, Hmmm.....Maybe Dirt 2, some of us have missed Colin McRae.

Damned magic 8-ball, it's not helping me out at all here!
I don't think the "old friend" will be another new game.
I think it'll be either the "my emails" tab, removed last year, with additional new functionalities, or some feature/function/whatnot which was present for some time but then disappeared (maybe a new version of the Review contest?).
Just my two cents, of course.

My money's on the official re-introduction of the Wishlist. I know it was never actually removed (www.gog.com/en/wishlist), but there hasn't been a link to on a public-facing GOG page since the last redesign. (Hence the increase in "GOG should put *insert old game name here* up!" threads.

Cook: We're working on it, unfortunately the main power source for the machine, which is a hamster, said to us (yes, it's a talking hamster!) he's done for now. We're trying to bribe him with some GOG games and weird food that came to The EnigmaticT from his homeland, but nothing works so far. If we have an update we'll let you know ;)
I say you threaten him with the microwave from Day of the Tentacle. Aww, what am I saying... Hamsters are so cute! Nuke 'em.
I hope the new features dont get me lost trying to nav the new and improved GoG.com :D

Ah, yes, I almost forgot about that, but that's definitely a possibility.
Maybe they add new features to it and put the link back to the main page?
I really hope its NWN 2. When it first came out I never really gave it any attention, I still have the box somewhere but god knows it the CD's are still in there.
Please let the new release be a SHADOW OF THE COMET + ETERNAM pack, and not some other D&D game.

Instead of the DragonShards and Demon Stones, they could have put the Neverwinter Nights games.

Leroux: Awesome! Now that's what I call great customer service! It also explains why the weather over here is still acting so strangely. Now, could you please extend the hours of the day as the next step? A general increase of human lifespan would be much appreciated, too! ;)

Just remind the hamsters that the dinosaurs were first and we ALL know how things turned out for them. We wouldnt want repeat now, would we?

I would jump up and down with glee over this one but somehow I doubt that NWN2 is it. It just recently showed up on steam for $19.99 and I suspect they aren't quite through trying to get that much out of it.

SLP2000: I'll appreciate two more months before June, TIA.

TheEnigmaticT: We're working hard to bring you GOGvember and TheEnigmaticTuary.
Wait... those sound like cold months! Great - "MORE" Winter is coming!

Yep, that does seem pretty logical. Until Delusionsbeta brought it up I completely forgot about the wishlist. I also haven't seen any gogmix links on the home page for the last week, not sure if that is just my display or not. I'm excited about seeing the site when I wake up tomorrow, thankfully I don't have to be anywhere.
So, unless GOG is like Energa SA [local power 'provider'] the new, fresh GOG will be available when i wake up! Cool! [deja vu]
Give me the maintenance bears and we can all walk out of this alive.

As, y'know, a wallpaper or avatar or something.

Good thought on the wishlist, I'd forgotten too (amusingly, given how high the wishlist is on my feature wislist)!
I've got GOGmixes showing, so unless you're an unwitting Sooper Seecrit Beta Tester, that's just you.

@nondeplumage: Also a good thought, I like. I've saved all the bears images I've gotten . . . I particularly like the 404, but I keep hoping for unique ones for new downtimes. :-D

Trivia: this site update will be kind of a birthday present for me (hopefully, a nice one); I'm turning a quarter of a century tomorrow.
