Thanks to our high-tech, magical device we've managed to extend the month of April till the 35th to bring you the new and exciting site update as promised in late April (some of you believe it's May already, but you're wrong ;)). As we teased last week, we have to take the site down for a short maintenance tomorrow (Thursday) to put up all the new and slick features.

We're expecting the downtime to be sometime around 3AM EDT (or 7AM GMT) and should only be a few hours. During this time you won't be able to buy or download your games on GOG.com, this means the maintenance will effectively prevent you from taking advantage of the GOG.com Gem Promo. That's why we're going to extend it for as long as the maintenance will last.

Be sure to come back tomorrow and check the new features as well as to see what's the last secret release from Atari - and now speculations begin!

I'm guessing a new game, they still have one left from Atari that's going to be a part of the current event. Plus they have yet to announce the big developer that's going to shock us.

Yes, I know there'll be a new game tomorrow (they even mention it in the news post), but they promised the return of an old friend from the beta stage for last Thursday, and said it had to be postponed a bit. I'm curious if they managed to get it working (whatever it is) and if they will present it to us tomorrow. No, they said that was a substitute.

The news post could be interpreted as being the intention with the wordning "Instead of one improved old friend, we're giving you improvements to 2 of our already released games", but yes, that's GOG humour for you, trying to throw us off.
Looking forward to the update cant wait to see whats new.
@aluinie: You can check the list of improvements in the original announcement.
Anyone else think we might get neverwinter nights 2? Also, I hope maintenance goes fast.
Wasn't Demon Stone the new Atari release?
It is an Atari game according to the catalogue.
"improved old friend" was supposed to be on thursday, and they said in the same announcement, that we won't get a game on thursday. So how is it that everyone is wondering about what game they was thinking about?

Just to remind:

We’re still on schedule to have a game release tomorrow, but because we’re shifting our schedule around to reflect the changes wrought by moving the site update there won’t be a game on Thursday. On the bright side, we’ll be seeing a new and improved version of an old friend back on the site Thursday, and man do we ever have a great week-long promo starting for you guys tomorrow.

It still may be a game (it's GOG after all), but why everyone assume so easily it's going to be a game, I don't know.
I believe that the "improved old friend" that they're on about is the GOG Downloader. Also, there will be a game tomorrow as stated by GOG at the bottom of the announcement "come back tomorrow....as well as to see what's the last secret release from Atari."

On that note I think it will be Chronicles of Riddick. I haven't guessed if it'll be Dark Athena or not but out of all the titles on their sites PC store that is the only one that I think answers the question: What game made you fear your past?"
