==== GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED ====

On this very night. One year ago. Worst accident I ever seen.

I mean, I joined GOG. So, to mark this occasion I thought I'd do a giveaway. (Quelle surprise, eh?)

A little bit different this time around. To enter, please post the game you were most happy to get on GOG, and why. A game you've always wanted to try, or which you wanted to play again and had lost your copy of, or one which surprised you in some wonderful way, or whatever other reason the game stands out for you.

Also post which game on GOG you most want to try. This will be the one you receive should you win this this event.

This will be a short giveaway, about 24 hours, so that it essentially starts and ends on my anniversary period.

Regale us with your best game anecdotes!

I'm in and thank you +1 :)

most happy to get:
Phantasmagoria

Game I most want to try:

Journeyman Project 3.
thanks for another great giveaway iamsinistar

the game i was most happy to get was street fighter alpha 2 coz it reminded me on my late youth aswell as my childhood with the earlier street fighter games.

the game i most want to try would be bloodrayne, i have never played it but heard great things about this classic
Congrats, Mate!

EDIT: Not in, but I was most pleased to see Starflight™ 1+2. It was the first game I played on my dad's CompuAdd 286 system back in '89. I lost many hours exploring that universe, upgrading my ship, mining planets for resources, scribbling down coordinates where I've been and where to go next. Such a simple game but gave me hours upon hours of enjoyment. In many ways it was very similar to Star Control 2 :D However, both have been sitting in my backlog for the last 2 years, waiting to be resurrected ;-)

Not in, just wanted to say thanks and congratulations! +1 rep
Congrats Sinistar! Thanks for being here!

Answering your question, the game probably was Deus Ex. I've played it on PC and PS2 before, but I needed it again, and is one of those games that is much better on PC (think it was my first purchase too, so there's that).
Volgarr the Viking was also a pretty damn good one, I got really happy. And it turned out to be one of the best games I've played last year. Thanks again Sinistar! :)

Feels so much longer..

The most happy with; I Have No Mouth And i Must Scream.
A unique point and click adventure game masterpiece which it was very unsure at one point if it would even ever come to GOG and other places.

Would like to try Rex Nebular and the Cosmic Gender Bender (i am really picking out the longest titles).
As well i am curious as to the grotesque effects of the frightening Gender Bender machine!

Thanks, happy anniversary.

Happy Anniversary on your 1 year here, Sinistar and thank you for the giveaway!

Neverwinter Nights 2 Complete was the game that I was very happy to buy from GOG. Why? Because, being the unfortunate owner of the vanilla Neverwinter Nights 2 and Mask of the Betrayer, I had massive frustrations with the game's broken patching method whenever I wanted to install both games. (NO! Don't go over 1.06 or you'll ruin it!) Missing the Platinum version made me think that I would never be able to play those games in a frustration-free way, till GOG released the whole Neverwinter Nights 2 package the previous year. Thanks GOG!

As for which game I would like to be in, that would be Postal: Classic and Uncut. I initially dismissed the game when I had first tried it some years ago on a friend's PC for having too crude a control system. But after getting used a bit to the controls of the first Crusader game and watching some more videos, it seems to be a pretty cathartic game.

Thanks again!

Congrats!

Not in, but thanks.

Hard to choose only 1 game, but if I really, really must, then it is Gabriel Knight 1. And why? Because this game is brilliant. :)
Game I want most right now on GOG... The Last Federation, because it looks awesome :D

The game I was happiest to get on GOG... Master of Orion 2, which I ninja'd from Namegoo . I was startled when I first fired it up, because I had only ever had a pirated copy, so the first time I found out it has music, cinematics, etc. I was shocked. Same applies to a lot of other games I got here on GOG. In many cases, I didn't even know they had sound at all :)

The game I was most happy to get was Dungeon Keeper. When I was a young kid, I saw it in a game shop, read the back of the box, and thought "this is a game I want to play". Back then, I knew nothing about computer specs and compatibility, so I bought it ignorant of those details. Very fortunately, it played with no issues and I lost myself for hours at a time in the game.

I carried and played that game throughout the whole of my teenhood, somehow managing to copy the game over to a thumbdrive when the disc stopped working. Sadly, the thumbdrive refused to boot the game after a while. I in all likelyhood still have the disc and manual buried in my house somewhere.

I don't quite recall how I found GOG (back then good old games) but I debated for a good long while on buying any games. When I finally took the plunge, Dungeon Keeper was one of the first games I bought (I say 'one of' as I bought five games on that one day). I'd had the Deeper Dungeons pack as well, so it was a good surprise when that was added as an upgrade later on.

As for the game I'd most want to try, Real Myst. I missed out on a lot of landmark/iconic games over the years, and after managing to snag Riven in the Insomia Sales, Myst has bumped up to the top of my wishlist. I have a rather annoying habit of needing to play a game series in order, so Riven is staying on my to-play list until I've been able to at least have a go on Myst.

(And good grief was that long. Sorry.)
Really glad about that accident, without it I wouldn't have gotten the chance to get to know you. ;-)

Here's to many more years with your delightful company!
Happy Anniversary! :-D

I'm not in but I still want to tell you about the game that I was the most happy to get on GOG:

Ultima Underworld 1
Ultima Underworld 1 was the game that really got me into PC gaming. I had to use a dictionary to be able to play it because my English wasn't good enough back then but that didn't stop me from getting completely immersed into the game. I do own an old original copy of UU1 but I wasn't able to get it to run properly on my "modern" PC so getting it on GOG was such a big and wonderful thing for me.
Different weapons, interesting NPCs, secrets, fun stuff, in-game language that you character had to learn, mining, fishing, exploring... The game has so much of everything!
I love the story, the humour, I think the game mechanics are alright, I only wish there would be a remake with modern graphics one day. I would play that. Again. And again.
Congrats on your 1 year anniversary!

It's hard to choose 1 game that I was very happy to buy here one GOG. However I am very happy I bought risk of rain. It is probably the game I play the most that I have bought from GOG. I love the rogue-like genre and for some reason this one keeps me playing it over and over again after I have beaten it multiple times.

The game I most want to try is Red Faction.

Thanks for the giveaway and +1!
