F1ach: I saw it on Steam (*spits) for €4 for it and it's expansion together, did a bit of checking, to find that it had been patched and was now a pretty decent game.
timppu: Patched when? Just now now, or you didn't notice until now that it has received a patch at some point? Just asking because I've bought it (and the expansion) from some DotEmu promo before, so I guess I'll be checking if they have updated it too.

(which also means I don't see why they couldn't appear on GOG too)

I did try the demo on Steam and HATED the camera and character mouse only controls.. I liked the concept and the style but that turned me off, simply. Then i read the extention fixed most of that and since i bought it on Dotemu. I'v tried a few hours and definitely better and at least finally playable. Recommend!

Hmmm how does it run. I tried the demo on 3 different pc last year and on all three including a very powerfull one the framerate was unacceptable... Is that fixed..?? If so i will buy it too based on this thread.

I run it on mine maxxed out in high resolution without a single graphical hickup. It used to run awful on my dual core rig a few year back, but after the updates which were included with Earth Awakening the game runs buttery smooth. My specs to give you an idea for comparison :
Phenom II X4 965BE (3.4Ghz)
8 Gb DDR 3 1600
MSI GTX 570 Twin Frozr 3 (Factory Overclocked)
The demo used quite early code by the way, it was available a month or so before the final product and it has never been changed so that could be where your problem lies.

I play on a very modest machine (radeon HD5450) and it runs and looks great.
But yeah, a demo, I dont think it would be the same quality as the patched main game.

For people trying the demo from Steam, it has a Tages protection to remove.
Just download and install setup drivers from following link : http://www.tagesprotection.com/main.htm

As I recall when I tried a nature character I was going for mage and.. it was a lot more hellish to deal with, too.. and I looked at the numbers on the Nature vs. Tech skills, and tech was just stronger.

FWIW, if anyone is looking to pick the game up like I did, you might want to keep the size of it in mind. The base game is about a 10 gig download. The expansion is another four or so.
If you've got a slow(er) internet, it's quite the investment. I'm grinding on it, but I'm looking at around a twenty hour download.

I looked at my HD before installing the expansion and I think it was only about 300mb extra, but it installed in about 2 seconds, But yes, the full file size is 14gig, but I think with Steam, when you buy the pack, it downloads it all, then a 300mb patch maybe. If you've got a slow(er) internet, it's quite the investment. I'm grinding on it, but I'm looking at around a twenty hour download.
Well, either way Zolgar, its much easier to play now, I rolled an archer last night and it was a tiny bit harder than the mage, but still, MUCH easier than my first attempt with the game at release.

Just checked my installation which is the Gamersgate version and includes Earth Awakening, total size is 14.5 Gb
The main game is much bigger than the expansion, one of the patches was done in such a way to install Earth Awakening and all its assets and then when you put the expansion key in it unlocked it and was ready to play.
Its the same with modern games, you have to download the extra data for expansions even if you don't own them. Borderlands 2 for example, seen on the Steam forums people asking why they had to download the big updates for add ons when they don't own them, thing is though these add ons also include patches.......go figure.
