Darn it. My collection of classic games is pretty good, however, my collection of old game boxes is absolutely puny because my mother made me throw them away regularly. The only things that survived my mother's rage were probably the boxes of several Amiga games which didn't take up nearly as much space as PC game boxes and we used to store other stuff. I should still have boxes of Pegasus, X-Out and Z-Out lying around as well as something that's more of an envelope than a box and contained Starblade. Oh yeah, also somewhere I still have the weird "box" of Tricky Quiky Games, a licensed game made to advertize Nesquik. The box has the crystal case format but is made of cardboard and has a slot for one diskette. All that stuff is in my parents' attic, though, so there's no way I can share pictures of them currently. :/

I do feel with you.
Due to my parents I did not only loose several boxes but also whole games, because "I didn't know you'd still need that old trash!". *sigh*
I recently cleaned out some old storage drawers. Even though most game boxes are gone, I did find some mint condition game manuals. I've got an Age of Empires book, a CivII book, the Alpha Centauri Tech Tree poster, etc.

"Are these books for the trash?"
-"Hahahaha no get out."

I know that feel, bro. I also lost quite a few boxes that way (i lost the boxes for quite a few games such as Fallout 1 and 2, The Neverhood, Jagged Alliance 2). There are some boxes that i managed to keep, though. I always try to purchase complete copies (with boxes) of those games that i own the disc, but not the box or manual anymore. I recently got a complete copy of Fallout 2 on the original box for a pretty decent price.

seikilos: Somehow I am far more conservative about spending money for dvd cases only - and do not even mention the price I am willing to pay for digital distributed games. Funny how I did pay up to 100 DM (~50 Euros + inflation) back in the days when I didn't earn any or much money as a child or later as a student while thinking twice about handing even 20 ,- for a dvd case or 10,- for a digital download. :-)
Same here. That's why i never buy digital games at full price (with a few exceptions). But i have no issues paying full price for a physical game.

Alright guys, I was at my Dad's house today and dug into my old closet and took a picture of the late 90s/early 2000s games that I still had in there.

I used to have a LOT more games, but most of my early to mid 90s games (Full Throttle, Sam & Max, King's Quest etc.) were misplaced.

Nice collection. I unfortunately got rid of most of my boxes to save space. Luckily, I have all my discs and a pre XP laptop to play them :)

Very neat. Thanks for the effort!
Thanks, I was lucky to still have those boxes in the closet. Brings back some good memories. :)
