I disagree. I kinda enjoy life too much, it would a pity to lose it just like that without reason.

Like certain philosopher once said: "Life is the best time of a man (human).". So true, the rest is pretty drab.

Joking aside, you certainly may be onto something. I remember reading that e.g. overly empathic people may get mental problems more easily, possibly because they tend to participate in the sorrow of others, and take part of the burden.

Another article claimed that high IQ seems to make many people also prone to depression, maybe they think too much or something, kind of taking the weight of the world on their shoulders. Left-wingers so often do, like that actor who was just arrested in a demonstration.

Right-wing white trash has it easier because they don't think as much, and don't care about other people's agony. For example, a hippo isn't scared that the sun might collapse tomorrow or doesn't feel pity for the little furry creatures in zoos (squirrels?), he just eats and f*cks all day.

XmXFLUXmX: Right-wing white "trash" has it easy huh? Like paying most of the taxes and serving in the military so lefties don't have to get drafted. Don't forget serving in the police force, fire departments, EMTs etc. Yeah, white "trash" has it real easy.
I am a "lefty", I guess and I am registered in the Selective Service in the US. Also, there hasn't been a draft since the Vietnam war so not even the "righties" are getting drafted.

XmXFLUXmX: If not enough people join, there will be a draft. Because the military is made up primarily of right-wingers, if they didn't join, there would be a draft, simple as that. People need to count their blessings because without right-wingers footing the bill for lefties at every turn, life would be a lot more uncomfortable for lefties.
Actually, most people join the military because it's either get shot in their poor neighboorhood or have a chance to get a free education. Sure, you have your politically-minded folks join in because of patriotism but most people are just doing it to get out of their poverty stricken surroundings. There are videos where you see recruiters targeting poorer schools because they know that all they have to do is tell people they get a signup bonus and they'll agree.

I find you both negative and yet naive, well maybe, I'm not sure how I would describe it. I have to ask though, what would be the point of those cultural works without us? Do you reckon anything else in the world cares about our cultural works, as cultural works? If we where go, those cultural works would immediately lose their value, I would go so far as to say they would cease to be cultural works. So that leaves us with the rather naive thought that something will come along, something better than use (I mean you wouldn't want to world to be taken over by something just as shitty or worse than use right), that will actually give a damn about our cultural works, you know before they are reduced to nothing but dust.

That is both negative and yet crazily optimistic.

Imagine alien civilisations exist and they find Earth at some point. Why not leave them something that shows them not only our achievements but also what caused our extinction?

Same stuff that is done by our archeologists ;-)

Fine, guess what. Republicans don't pay majority taxes, the wealthy do, BECAUSE THEY CAN AFFORD IT!!!!! The fact that a majority of the wealthy are republican leaning is inconsequential. Liberal's aren't prone to apathy, depression and blah blah blah, that's teenagers, all of them, and the wealthy kids get shit on sometimes as much as they shit on poor kids. Republican's don't join the army, people do. People who like fighting, people who want peace, people who think fighting is the way to change the world, people who get college funding through it and there are many, MANY people in the army who will vote democratic without a second thought.

So, do me a favor. You got a chance, you failed. Go away, now, leave all us rational people alone, we get along just fine without you.
