Profanity: Speaking of Baldur's Gate, maybe some of you may answer this:

Is there anything interesting to do in the carnival? Or is it just couple of unimportant shops? Because it seems like I'm missing something there.
YES
avatar
l0rdtr3k: I think I'm going to buy them.
the reasons are:they are considered the best of the best,I sighned to GOG just for them and I always wanted to play them
I'd still wait and see if you can pick up them and the other 3 Infinity Engine games for a bargain real soon

Rodzaju: YES
What if we exclude the chick you can unstone for 500 gold?

SimonG: Yes, they are classics. Others will look down on you, if you down have them. Or do you want to be the only one in the classroom that doesn't get the tiny giant space hamster joke. ;-)

But seriously, you should have played them, they were, all things considered, the best of their time. Don't be put off by BG 1, it is the worst, imo.
What SimonG says...they are two of the best PC games ever made. You should play BG2 first though, because BG1 is really hard.
how about I also buy Master of Orion 3?

You don't own PS:T yet?!? WTF?!?>

But seriously, if you buy it there's a great modding/etc guide here somewhere that tells you what cut content mods you can install for the game and other mods too like ones to allow widescreen/high resolutions/et al.......it tells how to install and in what order and is a lifesaver.

You are dead.....try again trololololol?

Needless to say I quicksaved alot in that game.

The only thing that irked me was teammates leaving after a set time if you didn't do their bloody side quests or errands(like that wizard and dwarf at the start).

OK, first it doesn't need to cost anywhere near that much.
Second, yu asked 2 questions and made a statement.
Which did my YES refer to?

Seriously, the Icewind dales are pretty good too - I'm playing the first one now, it IS combat heavy but, for instance, when I set up my party in a houseshoe shape, bows draw and then got my cleric to trigger a pack of goblins to run towards me, the noise of the first one dying to a volly of 5 missiles was completely satisying!

They are good games but they are nothing like BG1, BG2 and Planescape Torment. So if nonstop battles, isn't your cup of tea, the Icewind Dale games will disapoint you.
