Just got a new PS3 and was wondering if it was worth buying, I like the game but not sure if I should buy it.
Well, I've only played the version that was given for free to PS+ subscribers and only for a couple of hours, but I wasn't really captivated by it. Also, from what I understand there's a really big difference between console and PC versions graphics-wise, so maybe you should hold out and get it on PC eventually?
But maybe someone with a better knowledge of the game will offer a different opinion.

With Battlefield 4 coming out in less than a month I'd guess Battlefield 3 will be fairly barren soon. So unless it is really cheap I'd probably pass.

Yeah I was thinking about that as well
Well I can't offer you a balanced opinion since I'm no console gamer, my brothers do but I stick with PC always, I'd recommend you to get it for PC, as Darko said the graphics will be better, and I don't know if this is true but I think console versions have that aiming helper, which as a old school fps gamer is like cheating for me.

Cheers.

BF games cost a lot if you start them at the beginning. The DLC is expensive and the games themselves are expensive. So, if cost is a big factor, get BF3 now and play it for the next few years, then get BF4 Ultimate Edition. If you don't mind paying $60 now and maybe up to $100 on DLC later, then grab BF4 in a short while.

I don't know for certain, but i think a lot of folks can download and play the beta right now if you're itching for some BF action. Or you can get BF1942 free from Origin and tinker with that for the next month.

No aiming helping on BF3.

But there is a huge gaping difference for performance on BF games on the PC. The PC version supports larger maps (I think) and player numbers (definitely double).

You're probably right, although it's probably worth mentioning that there are still thousands of people playing Battlefield 2 on the PC despite the existence of Battlefield 3.

Mind you, given that Battlefield 4 is likely to be only an incremental upgrade over Battlefield 3 and that BF3 wasn't really much of a patch on BF2, it's not unlikely that everyone will flock to the new one from BF3.

Thanks for letting me know mate!
It depends... if your going to buy every DLC anyways, then yes... if your only going to buy a few... probably not...
It will be better if you grab the PC premium version. Because the BF3 multi in PS3 is limited to only 16 vs 16 players. Also the maps are much smaller.
Ok so new question, Should I get BF3 Premium or just Pre-order BF4?
From what my friend told me (and his gameplay video) I have to say that the new BF4 (for PC4) is an improvement.
