my thought is that a games site dedicated to lost games and providing another platform for indy's where the designers are fairly treated would be a good thing. I would think it would improve revenue streams and traffic for the site, and give me more ways to support the work that goes on here.
Won't fly here, unfortunately. Plenty of other places to buy indie games.
I'd fully support the move. But only if it was as a separate site. Not on GOG. GIG maybe.
I remember a thread about this before. Here it is.

Edit: Sorry, that thread was about indi games. Not about indy or indie games. :P

A new section of the site perhaps. GIG, as someone else said. It would be nice as Steam is cool and that but the GOG way of doing things (No DRM, and just the way the site works) is much nicer in my opinion.
Currently GOG is in a somewhat different market to Steam, if they started selling indie games it would make them a competitor to Steam and that is never good.
I don't see it working since most of the indie titles, bar something like Avernum, are too new.
I fully support GOG selling anything that is DRM Free. I could care less if its new or indie or anything else. DRM Free is my only reason for it being on GOG.

Am i the only one that got confused by the thread title and thought for a moment that we were getting games from LucasArts?
Having said that, i would like to see a separate section for indy games. They don't get enough exposure as it is and there's quite a few gems out there.
Edit: Hey GOG! Get Minecraft in here, pronto!

I don't think indy games would fit on GOG. What would fit is all those old shareware games where you had to pay to get the whole game (They're sort of indy games of old.). I'd REALLY love to see a section of GOG with them.
I wouldn't mind if it was worthy games (e.g. Mount&Blade), but most indie games simply aren't up to the quality level of even the mediocre retail games already on GOG.
A different subsidiary of CDProjekt would be a better option, as good as indie (and indi and indy) games can be, they're not the 'gaming classics repackaged for a new generation' which seems to be the GOG mission statement
Honestly? GOG wouldn't be the place to distribute new indie games, and a GIG would be running headlong into competition with the rest, which probably wouldn't be a good move.
I don't see why GOG couldn't start selling independently developed and published games, as long as they fit the niche of the site; that being older games. But for current/newly released indie games? No. Just the same as this site shouldn't sell current/newly released games from any other form of publishing either.

This is exactly how I feel as well. Well, there are a few games that I personally think are not worth selling at any price, but that is another story.
I typically only buy from GOG, GG, and Indy Publishers but only if the game is DRM free.
I think the better question is " Should CD-Project add a D2D-service for indie games(GIG) in the price balance of 5 or 10 dollars ?".
I am up for old Indie games, I mean, the OLD ones, but the new(Penumbra, Goo, aso). Just no. We aren't Steam.
