Damn, the whole cornerstone of the story I had planned to enter was the fact that you NEVER got to discover what truly happened. Would it count as Discovery Tease?

Well as long as the theme is apparent, then that's fine (at least that's what i'd say...)

Well like I said liberal interpretation is encouraged. So if your such a damn good writer I'm sure you can find a way to spin discovery as your theme ; )
Perhaps its not the discovery itself but the journey to discover, or the discovery of something unexpected even if the original mystery (or whatever) eludes you. Or something.
Well I just sent it so feel free to judge (or should I say "discover") for yourself

Aliasalpha: You seem to do okay in the forums. I can always proofread it for you if you want, I won't sabotage your entry TOO badly, you'll probably still come second

Its not just grammar, its also my vocabulary, choice of words... Id need to read quite a few books to be actually able to compete with english writers. But hey, I might as well take you up on that offer, if some interesting idea on "discovery" pops in my mind

Lou: Ok - Normal mode chooses the top 5 and they are posted in a read only topic.

<- Read-only topic = a great idea. I love reading as much as I love writing - oh and Ill at least see how awesome I am in comparison with you guys

BladderOfDoom: I have never used rapidshare before but im guessing its not overly complicated. yep I say go with this one.
Right while I'm going to keep genre open I still reckon we have a theme to build the stories around. Liberal interpretation would of course be entirely acceptable. Unless I receive replies from people saying otherwise I will go ahead and think of one and post it up here along with my email.

Aliasalpha: Now that I think of it, I think rapidshare might have a limit to the number of downloads, I know one of those free hosting sites does. Storage shouldn't be a problem, plenty of options out there.

You guys should just get a free hosting somewhere and put all files there, call them "shortstory.tripod.com/1.doc", "shortstory.tripod.com/2.doc" and so forth. Heck, I can even host for you if you're desperate (not designing any pages though, just hosting the documents).
For the voting, using forum polls sound like ... I don't know, bad idea. But we can only hope it turns out good. Either this or have the GOG staff pick the best story.

I say just give it a go. Sometimes it can be really interesting to read someones take on english when it isnt their first language. Christ sometimes they can do alot better than us native speakers!!

I can also contribute a prize of a copy of that 3d ultra minigolf game on steam, turns out one of the dozen or so copies I bought when on sale wasn't redeemed so I can re-send it
