hedwards: It's a perspective, anything post-Halo isn't what I would personally consider old, and those games ought to be running without any trouble on modern hardware.

I've tried a few of them and quite frankly, I've yet to find one that was actually as good as the FPS games from the '90s.
To each their own. I suppose it depends on what you're looking for as to what would qualify as 'good' in your book then. As for what's old and what runs on modern hardware, again I don't see the relevance as far as GOG is concerned. That's even before we get into how GOG plan to change their whole business model anyway...

A few things, for one thing, it's a waste of resources to work on supporting games that already run and are available elsewhere. For some games like Raptor, there's very little reason to buy it here rather than directly from 3DRealms, the only advantage to buying it here is the redownloads for life. And that's not really that big of a deal if you keep your data properly backed up.

And yes, they've changed their model which really renders pretty much all of this moot as we're no longer talking about old games and we're not necessarily talking about good games.

Eh, harumph, I've been against that whole thing from the start. There's still tons of Good Old C64 games, Amiga games, Amstrad games, Sinclair games, and not to mention the dozens of consoles that were in vogue prior to 1990 that they could be working on.

I think that Gothic 3's offspring puts paid to the notion of 'good' even if several other second sequels didn't quite manage it years ago.

C64? Don't get me wrong, I played the crap out of that system. Even got the 90s updated version when the old brown model died. But I wouldn't really want to be playing anything with that eye strain-inducing a palette now. Amiga though, yeah. Especially the Bitmap Brothers games. We need those. And the Amiga versions too. Not DOS, which sucked back then.

Seriously, GOG, when will you start distributing raping games? Killing games are getting boring!

Atari has done pretty well with their flashback units, I'm not sure that the C64 was really that much worse than the 2600. At least I don't think it was, I played with one a little bit like 20 years ago.

Presently somebody's requesting "Street Fucker II." At present it has 2 votes.

Manhunt 1/2 perhaps?
Well, violence is relativy. I have little children and won't let them play any kind of shooter. But FlatOut (with ragdoll deactivated) is very funny and they love it. They love to destroy other THINGS but I won't let them destroy/hurt other living beings. So I'm looking for such games. I don't download any shooter and I see GOG.com releasing so many shooters any so few non-shooting games.

Are you just anti-violence in general or just keeping them away from it due to their age? Just curious......
