As the title says I even won't bother to hide my true intentions :)
My friend and I have been writing a gaming blog for almost a year now and even though we do have regular readers (Google Analytics for the win :) ) we very rarely get any feedback about out texts or the blog in general.
So I would like to ask you, good people of GOG forums :) , to write here or on the blog itself what you think about it.
The address is www.lowrestextures.com . Just be aware that you might encounter some foul language and a lot of ranting :)
The problem with your blog is that there are more words than War and Peace! Cut down on the words like all blogs do, so that people can read your stuff quickly. And as for advertising, from the company AdBrite is Spottt that lets you paste HTML somewhere on your blog, and it will display ads of other sites looking for readers, and your site will be displayed on others' sites as well. You can't make people click them, so if people want to read your blog is up to them.

To clear up - the advertising thing was a little joke as I'm advertising my blog on these forums. :)
As for what you have written - I appreciate the feedback, but I must say that we never intended to be a regular blog that delivers information in small chunks. Our target readers are people who care to spend a bit more time reading and get something more out of it than just basic info. I know it's not a very popular decision from our side, but we have faith in what de do ;)

Well, popular or not, you might consider making the site more scannable. You do not have to cut down on the words at all, just reconstruct the first page so that you only show the title and the lead text for each article + read more link. Then readers can then quickly scan the available articles and read those they are interested in in more depth.
Might also make your site more attractive and encourage commenting.
The articles themselves were rather well written even though you could make some of them more readable by keeping the sentences for each paragraph together. For examble Mutants... article is ok, but Little big beta article is not. Is the third paragraph actually 5 paragraphs or just 1? Eliminating this would greatly enchance the readability.
Enjoyable reading none the less.

This is what I'm talking about :)
Your suggestions are noted and to be honest that it what we will do when our new website will be out (hopefully soon - takes a lot of time) because now we're using blogger, which isn't the most editable thing in the world ;) (although I'll see what I can do). When it comes to text formatting - unfortunately it's something I have problems with.
Still, thank you very much for the input - it's very helpful.
I have to second that "scanability" issue... but in a different way. For me the articles themselves lack a bit of structure... try to insert a few sub headers, like Graphics, sound, gameplay and so on,,, aside from making the articles easier to read this will also make it easier for you to spot issues while re-reading your own posts ,,
As far as the writing itself is concerned.... try to cut down on the rants, please... aside from being uninformative and boring they are terribly annoying since well... they often make sense from your point of view, but not necessarily mine... The rant about HOME was particularly annoying as it just didn't make any sense to me. HOME has issues. big ones. But you're rant goes on and on about the graphics (which I don't agree with, but that's another story), while only mentioning the real problems in the last paragraph. Why?
Formating-wise, I'd say get rid of the justification... I know it looks nice and I'm prone to use it myself, but reading long, justified paragraphs is a pain.
P.S. try to add a few more actual game reviews... aside from survival horror there's not a whole lot there yet.

Seconded, moar pictures and transitions! It helps a lot when reading wall of texts, especially when it talks about something which can be shown.
