Steam has commit a real sacrilege. Thief has deteriorated into a crappy, mutilated piece of sit, full of numerous different DLCs, preorder exclusives, and Steam sitty selling policy outcomes, as they say... Thief... A good old game... The grandfather of the stealth genre itself! One of the first games ever to be released in a single compilation, containing expansion and all extra stuff together (thief gold).

It is not even funny, what happened to it now (Thief 2014). Not only pc gamers have been sold out for the sake of the consoletards/consoleturds (production and release had been halted for the sake of the coming of the new console generation first). Not only it is (at least currently, thank god currently and not permanently) a Steam exclusive release... But it got torn into bits with the horrible Steam selling practices, and DLCs popping like mushrooms, sold seperately and extra!

Please, i take back what i said. Please, bring Thief 4 here, with it including all its DLCs, in one happy package, accompanied with all digital goodies given from GoG! I am willing to submit to regional prices, if you bring this game here, and especially complete, as all game packages you always deliver... I had been waiting for this game for 5 years now! Please, let us get it from here, from YoU!

Breaking a game into bits, consolizing it, and selling a crapton of DLC isn't Steam's fault. Not sure why you're ranting on Steam about it. That's a dev/publisher decision. It's not unique to Steam.

To be fair: currently there are 4 DLCs. 3 of them (booster packs) borderline cheats. Only 1 (Forsaken pack) which adds actual content with a challenge map.

That being said, I was on the fence pre-ordering it on the last few days. I'm aware that it's more of a spiritual successor and not the "Thief 4" die-hard fans were waiting for (just like with DX:HR and Tomb Raider). None the less I'm sure I'll have my fun with it.
Sole reason I resisted - I expected a crap ton of DLCs incoming, starting on day one. Hitman Absolution, Tomb Raider, Sleeping Dogs.... sry Square Enix, but sometimes even gamers learn their lessons. See you on sale again, probably 1/2 year or more later.

There are five DLCs; the Bank Heist is included with the initial purchase "For a limited time only", after which it will be paid DLC.

Those getting the game through AMD Never Settle don't get the Bank Heist included.

Personally I think regardless of others' opinions about the new Thief game, it will be great if the game can really come DRM-Free to GOG.

Not arguing that the DLC should not have been included, but with Hitman 5 all of the DLC was cosmetic rubbish that you could only use in the online challenge mode anyway.
None of it was worth buying.

I do think this practice with DLC has gone nuts though, and I am only willing to buy the base game. I can wait for all the DLC to be finished with and then either be given away for free or bundled up as one pack.

Yeah, good luck with the free thing, especially if its a BioWare game. Bought Mass Effect Trilogy for ten bucks over the holidays. It would still cost near $100 to get all the story DLC for 2 & 3. But strangely I was able to get Dragon Age Origins with all DLC for $5.
