When I, as an individual who has a mortgage on my home, have a fixed rate amortizing loan on a thirty-year amortization schedule, and I send in a curtailment (excess principal payment that doesn’t pay off the loan but reduces the principal balance faster than scheduled) what happens to all the subsequent payments?

Elmodiddly: Private mesges would definately require a moderator instead of the joke token guy on here as there would seem to be no boundries when conversing in PM mode.
If someone were to air incorrect, misleading or just frankly disturbing guesswork in public surely correcting someone, also in said public forum space, is necessary otherwise another set of forumites would go round with a bit of incorrect information in their cranial space waiting to be vomited forth in a discussion later in life, providing those around them with the viewpoint that the speaker was a complete moron for spouting such inaccuracies?
lWell, perhaps that's true in some instances, but I still don't feel that this is the right place.
So what do you do? You can't have a forum without discussion; if that discussion ends up with a disagreement or a person proving the OP wrong isn't that part of a discussion?

Well, you can easily point out how some one is wrong, and then go over the rest of the details in PM, you don't have to write a book of posts back and forth creating a flame war, allowing various third parties to get involved. This originated with Hansshmucker having issues with Clagg, and now it includes you and Zombus in some sort of gigantic World War 3.
I mean, you can clearly and concisely say someone is wrong without escalating into it being a fight, and if you must call someone out, do it in PM.
I don't have any fight to take up; just pointing out where Hansshmucker, I believe, was wrong and where Zombus was totally out of order.
Both of them, IMO, acted like children and actively took a thread that was over a month old and had a go here and now.
Shameful. Absolutely shameful.

We have PM's now?

*sigh* So we're descending from crusade to a "whose shovel hit whom"-kindergarten debate?
So, here I go again: Could you tell me briefly where I started to be 'totally out of order'?
(And it would be terrific to have PMs just to avoid such unnecessary discussions where people start to flame each other.)

Or we could drop the entire subject, especially since the +10 rep per question solved that weclock stablished has already changed, I got 5 overnight for a question I answered yesterday

So far this has been enjoyable for the numerous spectators.
I must say that I am fairly impressed by the way gog forum members handle these kind of things. In the end it usually resolves to intelligent and humorous remarks, which are for the majority nicely spelled, which is a virtue which I have elaborated about in another thread about whether or not wimmin are here or sumfing or other.
And that's all I wanted to say.
Peace!
