Under Christianity:
Love your neighbor, be compassionate, be pious, be faithful in marriage, don't worship wordly goods. In essence, strive to be a good human being.
Today:
Get good looks, make money, don't be a nerd, worship the flavor of the week, dismiss those who have good values and intelligence as pathetic, do whatever you feel like doing because it feels good and to hell with the consequences.
I wonder which of the two produces the best society to live in...

On the other hand, look at the other side of each of those:
Under Christianity:
Start holy wars, ostracize those who don't believe as you do, persecute those who you deem sinners, prevent gay people from having rights. In essence, strive to be a pompous ass.
Today:
No matter where you start from, you can achieve fame and wealth, use your prestige to support charity and other acts of goodwill, some of the most wealthy people are nerds, etc.
You're just looking at half the issue.

Same reason why guys do anything that demands any amount of effort or energy: to become someone that women want.
Women follow and worship trendy men religiously, as exhibited by the craze for Bieber and the Twilight doofuses, so in turn men are pretty much a slave to trends too, only by proxy.

I've heard North Korea is a pretty bad place. I've noticed a lot of his haters are trying to get people to vote him there. I don't particularly like Justin Bieber, but I don't want to see him get hurt or anything crazy like that. Just wondering. Correct me if I am wrong.

It's great to see so many heartfelt votes coming straight out of North Korea. As we all know, Kim Jong Il has abandoned his love of Elvis and now has a fixation on Bieber. Not only does this vote show the love the North Korean people have for Bieber, but also their love for their leader and their desire to see his every wish fulfilled. Some people call the North Koreans crazy. But in truth they just don't understand their passion. North Korea is a place of love. May Bieber enjoy his long stay there.
