Got me Spellforce. I'd always been on the fence about it, but considering it's like 2 bucks for the original and $1.50 for each expansion, it's not like I lost that much and I'm pretty sure it's worth more than that. The one thing I can't buy is TIME. Do you sell time, GOG? Do you?
Got me Sacred Gold and Septerra Core. I am waging the option to get Spellforce. Someone try to give me a reason to do so except for the goodies?
Not sure whether I'll buy anything this weekend, Sacred and Septerra Core are the only two I don't currently own although I have played them both in the past. Both good games but I've got enough JRPGs on the PS to finish and wasn't that taken by Sacred.
Seriously - if gog could add games faster, I'd probably never buy games from anywhere but here. Looking at the titles I own from gog, I'd rather re-play just about any of them rather than most of the new titles (like the aforementioned MW2) out now via D2D and Steam. There are some exceptions but precious few.
Definately going to pickup Stonekeep in a bit, but I'm still busy prevaricating on another title - this is where I could use some global help :P
Septerra Core has definately caught my attention due to its isometric and turn-based construction, yet, I've never been a fan of JRPGs, well, honestly, I've never liked JRPGs, and I've played my fair share of them (generally on a friends console) *grins* So I thought I would give this title a skip but there is a little cautionary voice in the back of my head crying out to me about the merits of this title, as I realise that Septerra Core is not a "true" JRPG, just a title with the veneer of one. I've watched a few gameplay videos of it and they appeared, to me at least, lackluster in comparison to a few of my favourite turn-based games, Temple of Elemental Evil, Fallout, Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate and so on.
So, here's the rub (and this is where I would greatly appreciate some advice), am I missing out on a great RPG experience because of my, perhaps incorrectly held, views? Or, if given the qualifications I've mentioned above, is it probably better that I skip the title?
Any comments are appreciated, thanks!

KEgstedt: Hey now, the Modern Warfare Stimulus Package includes 2 old maps from the first MW game...which practically makes the new DLC into a GOG-style retro release! ;)

Oh, so they did so much work, by porting two of the previously created maps and adding them into DLC? How generous from them.
What would it cost if they, god forbid, had to create two new maps from scratch instead? :-O

It's worth $2.99 in my opinion, but no...you're not missing anything great, really.
Bought Septerra Core and Stonekeep, deciding on Spellforce. Someone wanted to buy TIME from GoG, can I have some too please? :)

Septerra Core is worth $2.99 if you're a fan of JRPGs, or if you just want to satisfy your curiosity. Otherwise, it probably won't do much for you. As JRPGs go it's a pretty decent one, but if you don't like that sort of game, SC won't change your mind.
The combat is, in fact, a bit flat, and is definitely not on par with Temple of Elemental Evil.

I'd say that as JRPGs go it's a dull, trite, hacked-together one made by a bunch of Japanophiles who thought blue hair would be enough to bring in the masses after FF7 hit it big.
The game only has two notable aspects: 1) it's a JRPG made by western developers, and 2) it's a JRPG that's native to the PC.
If you're a fan of JRPGs you've played better, if you're not a fan of JRPGs then this isn't going to convert you, and if you want to know what the genre is like then this isn't a good introduction to it any more than Lionheart is a good introduction to CRPGs.
Pythos, don't think because it's a western developed game that it'll somehow appeal to you more than other JRPGs. It isn't just Planescape with big eyes, it's a full on JRPG and if the genre doesn't appeal to you then I don't see what you'd find here.

Just a quick note; the JRPG genre is pretty big on computers (PC and others), and has been for the last 20 years or so. But, obviously, none of these games ever make it to the Western market...

I've also played considerably worse, including some major crap from the vaunted Squaresoft (whose embarrassing post-SNES releases did a lot to kill off my interest in JRPGs). It's worth three bucks for genre fans.

Well yeah, Falcom's stuff is pretty awesome in particular but as you said, they never come out over here so for most people they're not really worth consideration.
Thanks for the feedback, Catshade, Mentalepsy, and sethsez. Appreciate the response and insights you all offered. Don't think I'll purchase Septerra Core this time round, but perhaps in the distant future when the intrepid gaming spirit once again clutches my heart.
Again, to you all, thanks for the words and advice :)
P.S
sethsez: "It isn't just Planescape with big eyes" - lovely imagery that, conjures a beautiful mental vista *grins* :P - nicely worded.
I can't believe how awesome Stonekeep is.
