Not a hugh fan of RPG's generally but these look interesting in that they all seem quite different to what's around today, at this price I will chance it, hopefully I will have a good experience with at least one of these titles.

Lou: Thanks for the sale GOG. I am hoping to pick up at least one.
Sacred Gold - Still installs and runs fine from original cd's
Septerra Core - I need to check but I think it too installs and runs fine from original cd's
Spellforce Platinum - Don't have it and need input - How much of an RPG is this title? Does it play more like Heros of MM?
Stonekeep - Already have the GOG Version
Help with Spellforce - Please.

Spellforce Original: can be played as largely an RPG or as an RTS, take your pick (all but a few areas can be completely or almost completely cleared by you and your heroes without base building, or you can build up huge armies). The expansions have more areas that force you to build bases, and, without mentioning spoilers, there are two design/storyline decisions in the first expansion that drove me so far up the wall I haven't brought myself to go back to finish that one yet. But the original alone's worth $4.99.

Catshade: So...how RTS-y is Spellforce? I love RPG, but I suck a lot at conventional RTS (C&C, Starcraft, etc.)

Warcraft 3 with shitty voice acting and pretty graphics. I love it.
I now all of the promo games...
Septerra Core from a gift.
Sacred on CD.
Stonekeep from this promo.
Spellforce from a previous one.

Lou: Snip.

If you like Warcraft or Starcraft, you'll like it. Also, try out the editor. Fun to mess with.

Just bought them all except Stonekeep - already had it from GOG. Thanks.

Cryxo: I think he means JRPG.

When I say Sci - Fi RPG that's what I mean. NOT, JRPG. Isn't Septerra Core Sci Fi?

It's a Sci-Fi J-style RPG. The game is a little linear, but it's very well paced so there isn't too much back tracking or mindless grinding . There are a lot of sci-fi elements, but I wouldn't call it hard sci-fi. Probably more of a science-fantasy like Star Wars.

Well Septerra Core is a JRPG, to my knowledge. So I assumed that that was what you were saying.
My appologies.

No harm done. :)

Not to derail the thread or to bash a certain company too much, but...
This whole pack of games can now be acquired for 16 USD. That's ONE dollar more than Modern Warfare 2's Stimulus Pack. Go figure which warrants more play time... (Of course, consideing the player is, like us, enightened enough to appreciate old games :-).)
I found the Stonekeep CD, but the game wouldn't run due to the whole 64/16 bit thingy.
I watched a couple of videos of Stonekeep and Septerra Core and decided to get them.
I don't actually have room for them now, but I will download them later.
Once again GOG prevents me from buying that elusive burger and fries.
I already had all except Septerra Core and Sacred, and now I'm picking up Sacred.
I don't think I'd be able to stomach the fake-o JRPG much. Not to say it's a bad game or anything. I'm sure it's entertaining enough, based on fellow users' posts. I'm just the kind of person that plays my JRPGs in Japanese, so a western developed JRPG doesn't really sit that well with me.
Glad to finally have Sacred, though. Thanks for the sale, GOG.

Hey now, the Modern Warfare Stimulus Package includes 2 old maps from the first MW game...which practically makes the new DLC into a GOG-style retro release! ;)
