i bought the unreal collection (so UT GOTY, unreal & unreal addon) and if i remember rightly, it cost about £15 maybe 3 / 4 years ago. so i'd guess they'd probaly just group it like that again. as for the price id say they could get $10 for it so they might as well go for it.
big fan of the original UT, got a really vivid memory of it...
dual flak cannons (due to the akimbo mod)
bender robot model and skin
the bad taste sound pack (clips from the peter jackson film like "Suck my spinning steel, shithead!!")
and of course in a booming voice
.
.
.
UNSTOPPABLE!
good times man :D, good times....
Shouldn't GOG concentrate on games that aren't available or currently playable in XP/Vista? You can still get the Unreal Collection with Unreal Gold, Unreal Tournament, Unreal 2 and Unreal Tournament 2004. I have original copies of Unreal Gold and Unreal Tournament and they both work perfectly fine in XP.

I think they should focus on titles that will bring them money.

Then they would probably do better not wasting time (time is money you know) pursuing these games, since Epic is selling them in retail outlets.

If they can create a relationship with Epic that allows them to put older games on here, and it has to start with Unreal, then I am more than willing to accept it.
I take it there's not much of a chance we'll see UT3 offered up on GOG for $9.99?
I've owned the first Unreal, Unreal 2, UT99 (or original UT), UT2003, and UT2004 (still have a copy).
There's been some good mods for UT3 that I would love to try out if the game still wasn't selling for $40-50 retail.

I hope this is a joke, right?

Can we go back to being a closed beta?

DukeNico: Nope. The typical lifespan of a game in the past was 3-5 years. Nowadays, its more like 6 months - 2 years (if the game is lucky).
Of course, I don't mean right away. If it could be added say next year, it would be pretty nice (or maybe for $14.99 or some other pricing structure).
We're bound to see UT4 announced next year (or a expansion to UT3). Game quality isn't what it used to be since companies are rushing them out left-and-right.
Can we go back to being a closed beta?

Why? Because I asked a question? I joined GOG when it was closed beta, so I don't know what going back to closed beta would accomplish.

Well, UT3 came out in 2007, so it's probably a bit new for good old games, but the others are definitely worthy of the site. In fact, I was able to find at the Unreal Anthology (Unreal: Return to Na Pali, Tournament Game of the Year, Unreal 2, and Tournament 2004) at a local Gamestop for 10$ new in the box(Cleaning inventory?) just this week. I have my doubts that if they release the anthology it will be quite that cheap since Stardock sells the games individually close to that price (or the pack including Unreal Tournament 3) for 45$. But I think the games would go well on gog & hope they do release them. (Every game that good old games can get can bring in more money and popularity to the site we all love)

You're right, nevermind. Should have thought that one through a bit more...

I'm getting a laugh out of this (not at your expense) since I took a look at the Official Games Voting List just now. I saw Unreal Tournament 3 listed with over 30 votes. I'm not the only one who thought of it. :)
FYI guys: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/683/
Has all the unreal games (Unreal, Return to Na Pali, Unreal 2, UT99, UT2k4, UT3) for $40 USD.

Heh, Unreal 2 is now in the coming soon list... that's the worse unreal, but oh well.
We're expecting even more episodes, as the forum lists "Unreal Series".
Told ya guys!
Unreal 2? Oh well. That means Gold will be available later on.
