CD Projekt RED Group Summer Conference live (right here! We'll embed it below!) on the 30th May 2012 at 5:00 PM GMT.

We know that he who does not collect in summer, will heat little in winter and because we care for our users, you can prepare yourselves for wonderful harvest after the CD Projekt RED Group Summer Conference next Wednesday at 5:00 PM GMT. It is true that one swallow does not make a summer, that is why first you will hear some earth-shattering news from our friends from CDP RED and around 40 minutes later (that’s around 5.40 GMT!), TheEnigmaticT will tell you about GOG.com’s upcoming plans and release a number of fantastic games live at the show. We know that the summer that yields lots of pumpkins and horseradish doesn't fill the larder, that is why you can expect some old, some classic, and some brand new releases that will definitely heat up the first days of June.

Winter will ask you what you did during the summer, so make sure to tune in next wednesday May 30th at 5:00 PM GMT to watch us during the CD Projekt RED Group Summer Conference in this very newspost. Summer night is not very long but it rocks many cradles. You simply don’t want to miss it.

It may take a while for the video to buffer below, you but you can check out the stream here on Ustream if you missed it. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/22959397 Our part starts about 30 minutes in. Thanks for watching!

We’re out of obscure Polish proverbs about Summer, but feel free to make up your own in the comments below. ;)

Ah, good - need something to warm up the winter days here :P
second that. its 14 degrees in my room atm.
Need more Witcher asap.
Last summer conference gave us EA. Hope we'll get something equally as awesome this year.

Psyringe: Will we get a space butterfly section? Pretty pretty please? :)
There may be something that will remind you of such. ;)
I know it can become a custom here, but will you be recording the conference for those who cannot watch live?

Yay! I'll be sure to tune in then. :)
Sounds very interesting, just please record it for those of us with painfully slow internet. The last time I tried to watch it live, I only caught five words every 10 seconds :)

Still....will set my alarm for Bangkok time and will see if this time is any better.

TheEnigmaticT: The technical term for it is "a lot." :)

SLP2000: Yeah, I think you have too small team to make it possible right now. You're working on getting newer games, and with Linux suppor you'd be focused on too many thing at one time.
I think it would be easier (by far) for the indie games and DOS/SCUMM style games the problem though is the amount of testing " So what if they have this libc not this libc... crap it crashes" etc etc. GOG could actually do worse than release a GOGnix with a known setup is thumbdrive bootable and comes with a standard version of everything they could work to... hmmm...

You know using a debian base... a windows manager that just loaded a gog downloader/installer...

Future_Suture: There better be some news regarding Linux. With Steam coming to Linux, Desura already on Linux in its entirety, and nearly 3,300 votes in the GOG Community Wishlist for GOG to support Linux (http://www.gog.com/en/wishlist/site/add_linux_versions_of_games), it really isn't too much to ask for.
avatar
SLP2000: I'd be really surprised if GOG ever do that, as with their business model it's almost impossible.

They test games (like finish every game on 30 different PCs) before a release.

How much more work would it take to support Linux?
I agree with what you said, but at the same time, when I look at "What is GOG.com?" on the main page and see "You buy it. You own it. 100% DRM-free. Download, reinstall, or backup without limits. Fair price policy, Worldwide availability." and so on, GOG's business model sounds perfect for Linux. That, plus the Linux community does a huge amount of work anyway and is generally more adept with computers. GOG already uses ScummVM and DOSBox which are FOSS and work under Linux. They could also have a few more sales off me if they're interested. What's more, with all these indie games coming out and ensuring Linux support, what will GOG do? With Steam following Desura, what will GOG do? With Windows 8 not looking to be very anticipated, what will GOG do?
I love these conferences. See you there :)

Provided all works correctly with UStream, it will post immediately after the conference. Since things don't always work out with the stream, I can at least guarantee you that we'll have the recording up within 24 hours. :)

Hmmm...
"A Polish Summer roars, but beware lest it deafen you to the whispered demands of Winter"
"In Summer, Winter is like the love of a neglectful parent - cold, and distant" (butchered from something Zelazny wrote once)

Why am I even doing this? :P

So, for the conference.... can we get a Papercraft of theEnigmaticT?

Thank you very much for the swift reply. In any case, there's always a new news article on the front page of GOG to fill me in on all the new details. Hopefully, it will be something that will blow us away. Or jump up and down like teenage girls, it all depends on the release(s) (and the gamer).
