Nirth: Where? I thought a community member mentioned it and for the other games as well.

JudasIscariot: Right here:

Ah, my bad. Thanks for pointing it out.

I aim to please :D

NessAndSonic: Licensing can be a real problem with games these days. Anyway, I was debating on whether I should have gotten Second Sight or Sands of Time earlier today. I chose SoT. Not sure if I lucked out on picking that one or not, since my internet's unpredictable. I'm not sure I would have been able to download Second Sight in time if GOG removed the download. Anyway, I hope this gets worked out soon.

JudasIscariot: The game will be removed from sale but if you buy it before it's removed you will still be able to access all the content of the game i.e. installer(s), bonus content.
Too bad I can't get it until next month, assuming GOG manages to set things right. Silent Hill Downpour washed away most of my game funds for the time being. Pun intended.

Jeez, I'm out of it, could someone fill me in why has Space Rangers disappeared as well (is it just another license thing or a bigger issue with 1C I'm not aware of)?

G-Doc: We confirm that some legal issues have arisen with Second Sight. This has caused some of the other retailers to already remove the game from their offer. We're investigating this matter now, but it is likely that tomorrow we'll have to take down the sales page for Second Sight as well. If this happens we will do our best to re-include that great sci-fi paranormal thriller in GOG.com catalogue. As for now, we operate under the assumption that these are the final hours we can offer you this great game in our usual DRM-free, goodie-filled package. It's very probable that you'll continue to be able to download Second Sight from the catalog for the forseeable future--but if you're the belt and suspenders type, you might want to make sure you've got a backup stored locally, just in case.
Thanks for that, man. I was thinking about it last night when I saw this topic, but I couldn't justify doing it with how low on funds I've been lately. Greatly appreciate the confirmation of some trouble with Second Sight. I've been waiting on a sale on Second Sight for ages. Saw it in stores and had an interest in playing it, but never had the chance to pick it up. $10 will set me back a bit, so hopefully you guys will have a lame gem promo and weekend this time. ;)

On the subject of Codemasters, Soldiers: Heroes of World War II has been rotting away for ages on my wishlist. I just noticed today that it's also on Steam, half the price of the GOG version, and currently 66% off as well. Codemasters games don't get enough sales here (I remember last holiday that they were one of the few to hold back on having discounts. Perimeter and Cannon Fodder have been on my wishlist for as long as I can remember!), so I have to admit it's awfully tempting. >_>

TheEnigmaticT: You know, they de-listed it from sale there, too. :P

JMich: He's glad he has it installed since he's not sure if he'll be able to download it again from Steam :P
P.S. Did you try the XCOM Demo yet?
Not yet. My mother's in town from the USA. I don't think she'd approve. :P

Nirth: Why can't GOG warn us before they pull the games?
Uh... we are. This is your warning. The game is likely going down tomorrow.

First time I ever bought a game that wasn't on sale/discounted. Then again, this was on my wishlist and hadn't been on sale in 2 years, so I don't think it was ever going to be on sale again anyway. What is it with Codemasters and no sales?

I just don't think they're very invested in the site. They haven't released any games on here in over 3 years.

Well, it's one thing to not have any of the weekend sales or gems, but remember, they even refused to sign on for the Christmas sale as well. Were they the only publisher or was there one other? I can't remember.

Well, your warning is post in a thread created by another user.

Something like this seems to deserve an official GOG announcement.

There was also Piranha Bytes (and the self-published Gothic 1), but that's not the point I was making. I'm assuming that, aside from the likely-paltry revenue checks that GOG sends them for sold games, there isn't really any communication between the two parties anymore. CM doesn't sign onto the Christmas sales or anything else like that because they just don't care.

Indeed, I don't know why I didn't say that.

Ah yes, Piranha Bytes and Gothic... I thought there was another one. Regardless, for Codemasters not to be in the Christmas sale, there had to be some sort of communication, even if it was just two letters, N and O. But, yeah, I think we're saying the same thing, Codemasters just doesn't care anymore, which is unfortunate. I'll bet that there was a change in management somewhere at CM that affected this.
