SPOILER

I think Laura Roslin, the President of the Colonies, was great. Mary McDonnell's acting created a rich and varied character.

The scene, when Roslin, Secretary of Education, realizes, that she's the most senior survivor of the government and therefore supposed to be president was awesome. It gave me goosebumps when she was sworn in, as it showed the deep will to survive as a society. While I liked the whole series, the first 10 episodes where the best for me.

Guess I never watched Battlestar Galactica enough to have a favorite moment/character... :/

Gaius Baltar is my favourite character too. I really enjoyed seeing how he changes over the course of the show. I will refrain from posting my favourite moment as it is from Season four and I do not wish to spoil it for you.

blotunga: Valid question :). I've loved the classic BSG also. In the modern BSG, although I remember it only vaguely, my favorite character was Edward James Olmos's Adama. Brilliant performance imho.
On its whole the show was ok, but for example the old Starbuck (Dirk Benedict) was better imho, while I really enjoyed Dr. Baltar in the new one.
And Tricia Helfer is HOT :D....

Thanks for the giveaway, rampancy +1 I'm in.

My favourite part of BSG was definitely not the ending! But seriously, I liked the episodes that explored the Cylon perspective and the development as a "race". SPOILER\\\\\\ Plus, finding out Cylons looked like humans and walked among them was pretty cool also. //////SPOILER

An honourable mention goes to the physics in space because *sometimes* they would use Newtonian physics, which was nice to see.
