That's not all what we've prepared for you. What would a racing weekend be without a race? That's why we're launching Screamer time attack contest. The rules are simple: go to time attack mode, choose the Lindburg track and pick one of the cars (excluding the Bullet Car). Grab a screenshot of the best time you manage to achieve and send it to users@gog.com. The player with the best time will receive a bonus code for a free game from GOG.com's catalogue. The contest ends on Monday, February 16 at 11:59 p.m. EDT and the winner will be announced on Tuesday, February 17 at 10:00 a.m. EDT.
do you have to buy a copy of the game from GOG.com?
Can you use a previously bought copy?
Will the Winner be mentioned in the upcoming newsletter?

Yes, you have to buy the game from GOG.com to enter the contest.
As for mentioning the winner in the next newsletter, we'll think it over, but that's a nice idea!

does it say in the documentation how to take a screenshot or does it have to be done with a 3rd party application? My Macbook doesn't have a prtscrn key, in order to get that you have to press a number of keys and I typically use third party software because I can map ss to a different key.
Also, can you only send in your times once or continuously play and keep sending the screenshots of the faster times?

You can use a 3rd party application to take the screenshot.
There is no limitation of how many screenshots you'll send us, but it might be a good idea to take the screenshots after all your races and send us the one with the best time!

darn ;-)
I was gonna dig out my old copy....
Capitol idea! Nothing like a good contest of ability to get the juices flowing.
Excellent idea! I hope this is a sign of more prize-rewarding gameplay challenges in the future. :)
You can definitely count me in. I'll even record my best run and YouTube it for posterity.
Well, it's official: I suck at time trial. 0:48:79

practice makes perfect :)
Even though I usually suck at racing games, I'm going to give this contest a try. I haven't played Screamer since a demo 10 years ago, so this should be interesting.
This is a great idea for a contest. It even makes me more tempted to buy the game.
And it helps making a "joined for the games, stayed for the community" feel.

Same here, I'm very tempted. When I read the first notice from my phone (thanks twitter) I was like "ah.. surprise? oh.. it's a racing game. :(' then I saw there was a contest and I was like 'I could do that.."
And at $5.99 it makes me wonder.
