There are two shortcuts: 1. go across the grass where the windmills are and 2. turn right directly after the bridge. That corner is pretty hard to get right, but it will catapult you to the finish. Try to get the last corner before the finish without breaking by turning early.
Funny thing is right after posting that, I was able to get 47:48 while driving an automatic.

The student has become the master. (didn't expect it to happen that quickly, though)

It actually wasn't due to your advice (just 15 minutes of pure racing since the last post), I usually can't make the right at that last corner anyway. Well, I'm down to 47:05 now!

You could have left an old man thinking that he was the key factor.
Just made 47:14, now for the 46:xx mark.
edit: 46:88
After this, a made a fist with my fingers, to flex them, and heard a huge crunch sound. That's it for the day then :)

GOG.com: That's not all what we've prepared for you. What would a racing weekend be without a race? That's why we're launching Screamer time attack contest. The rules are simple: go to time attack mode, choose the Lindburg track and pick one of the cars (excluding the Bullet Car). Grab a screenshot of the best time you manage to achieve and send it to users@gog.com. The player with the best time will receive a bonus code for a free game from GOG.com's catalogue. The contest ends on Monday, February 16 at 11:59 p.m. EDT and the winner will be announced on Tuesday, February 17 at 10:00 a.m. EDT.

Sorry for maybe sounding a bit "dumb" But this bullet car you can't use, It's not mentioned in the default range of vehicles like the Shadow, Tiger, Hammer etc. Is it an unlockable car or another name GOG are using for one of the default cars?

Its an unlockable car, really fast and easy to handle :)

What kind of program are you guys using to take screenshots?
Usually PaintShopPro9, but you can simply press the PrtSrc button, then go into Paint and press Ctrl+V.
00:49:26. I am not good at arcadey old racers like this (though I love 'em to death).
Speaking of, you know what would be awesome to see get GoG'd? Daytona USA. Man, I had some good times with that game...

Ah SEGA. Had a brief encounter with their mobile division a while back and they were surprisingly open and talkative. Could be worth a try.
47:75 Seems like acceleration is more important here than end speed.

Edit: just noticed, you can make screenshots in DOSBOX with Ctrl+F5

GOG, I hate you!!! (just kidding :))
I had absolutely no interest in buying Screamer (I've bought Screamer 2 a couple years back and haven't played it since) but with all these numbers I keep reading there's no other way:
I have to beat you all!!!
It seems that all the modern racing games I've played have ruined my ability to play this one; I can't get my lap time under 50 seconds! Since that's obviously been beaten by several people I'll refrain from entering the contest, but I'm still having fun playing the game itself. I love the old-school low-poly software rendered look of it. Even the insane pop-in caused by the short view distance is amusing to look at. :)
Looking forward to seeing some insane laps on this track from the rest of you.
