Not in, but thanks and +1 for your generosity, Tarun!

(Hope life's treating you well) ;)

My two cents (from the '80s):
- Dempsey and Makepeace
- Moonlighting
- Remington Steele

I'm a fan of Bones (US), personally. In for nemesis. Thanks!
A very interesting detective series I remember watching among the many I have watched, being a detectivesque fan, was "Der Alte", by the way the original is in german but since I watched it dubbed I think you´d be able to get it in english.
Also "Murder, She Wrote" I used to watch that one a lot.

and I´d like to enter for " Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened - Remastered Edition ".
: )

Not in but thanks and +1 =)
Good to see you back Tarun, thought of you just a couple of days ago, made me wonder where you've been :-)

Was going to recommend some Judge Di, but since you want a TV series, I'm not sure if there is one (some probably exist in China, but don't know them). But I could recommend Masterpiece's Poirot, most excellent Agatha Christie adaptations!

If that's good enough, pleas put me down for The Awakened. I refrained from the SH groupee because that is literally the only one I'm interested in, so thanks for the opportunity :-)

Again, great to see you back and +1 ;)

I will enter for Sherlock Holmes versus Jack the Ripper, thanks for the chance Tarun ! :-)

I like , and [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_Case]Cold Case.
Not in, but I am quite fond of Columbo. I still rewatch some episodes with the same pleasure...

As a kid, I liked Magnum PI quite a bit. More for the tone (and music) than for the sleuthing though.

The adaptations of Wallander are very nice to watch, both series actually.

I wouldn't classify The Shield as a detective series (it's not exactly the adventures of Dutch Wagenbach, or is it), but this may be offset by its awesomeness. Same for the Wire, in which absolutely everyone fails to detect anything ever.

Sperling is a nice german tv series. But it felt a bit too close to :

Cracker. With Robbie Coltrane. Which wins as the best of them all.

(Edit : didn't mention Twin Peaks as I don't really classify it as a detective series - although a whole series based on "tibetan" methods of investigation would be cool. Also, forgot to mention Jeremy Brett's Holmes, very good but a bit too obvious given the OP. The recent BBC Sherlock is quite great too, though.)

I have totally never heard of that (and I totally want to watch them all).

Also does the 60s batman count as detective series ? DEBATE.
