FlameWhip: (Freespace for me)

Make sure you grab both Freespace1&2, you won't regret it.

trusteft: The games do not support joystick? How do you control your ships in these games then? Only keyboard? Sounds horrific.

Magnus: They do support joysticks. However FreeSpace 2 has a mouse control scheme as well.

Thank you.
Yay! A promo where I not only don't have all the games already, I don't have any of the games already. (Actually, I think I do have a copy of Descent... Somewhere.) Sold!
The first time I have everything, though I have the Descent Definitive Collection, not the one from here. These are FANTASTIC games, and worth every penny.
I have all Freespace games. I'm tempted by Descent.
Doh! I've got them all. :-(
Wish I could take advantage. Sorry GOG.
yesss!! few hours ago i considerd to buy both freespaces, and now this cool promo!
gog rocks!! love you guys!
FS1 has mouse control too. IIRC, you may have to enable mouse flight control in the game options first though (at least in FS1).
Damn quote system won't let me make this a proper reply.

Same boat here. These were among the first GoG games I purchased. Hopefully now more folks will find the joy in the Descent and especially Freespace games.
I have Descent 1, 2 e 3, except the add-on. Freespace is a similar style?

Freespace is in open space whereas in the Descent games you're constrained to tunnels and small outdoor areas. IMO, Freespace is far superior, and that's even with my nostalgia for the Descent games. They're awesome, but the Freespace series is godlike.
Got both Freespaces, but not really interested in Descent, so I'll pass this time around.
I've installed Freespace twice and quickly uninstalled after trying to master the controls, once with a keyboard and another time with a gamepad. I'm afraid of installing it a third time because then I'll run out of activations and then I'll have to send an email to GOG explaining what happened so they'll let me play my game and... I... BWAAHAHAHAHA heeheehee.... oh, man... I love my GOG's.
I've simply been too lazy to memorize the controls, but if the control scheme is easier for a keyboard on Freespace 2, I should give that one a shot first.

Yep, I bought mine in December when GOG had a Interplay BOGO offer. They are really great games. I wish Interplay was still around making the gaming world a little brighter.

I've always thought of Descent as a shooter not as a sim. Infact when it first came out Descent was marketed as a shooter. So it's kind of a mix of the two genres. Which is what makes it an awesome game.
Freespace is a space sim on a grand scale. It's the only game on the market at that time that gave you perspective on how tiny you are compaired to a titan battle cruiser. The story is absolutely amazing. It doesn't have that cozy Wing Commander feel. You feel like you're the only thing standing between total destruction of the universe and salvation. I would recommend it if you like any type of sim game.
