Some interesting information has arisen in the wake of a 4chan DDOS attack on the english anti-piracy company ACS:Law. You'll all be ASTONISHED to hear that they don't seem to give a shit about maintaining copyright integrity or actually stopping piracy but seem mostly interested in how they can use this to squeeze money out of people who are quite often innocent (or at least who couldn't be legally proven guilty)

The bad thing is, this seems like it can screw over the innocent people's privacy as much as the law firm tried to screw them over financially. That's not cool.

As much as I'd love to see more anti-piracy measures come into law, if only so DRM-free sites like GOG can continue on without worry, the prosecutors of said law cannot be in it to harm innocents. Hopefully this exposure will lessen companies' willingness to deal with these charletains. As the RIAA learned, picking on people for no real reason isn't going to get the results desired.
