Sorry for the title. I don't know how to title it without a longer sentence.

Basically, I am looking for games that go from one game to the next through import/export saved games from the previous game. For example, after you finish Witcher 1, you can import the saved game into Witcher 2. This is the same with Fallout 1 and 2 (edited: I might have mixed that up with another game). I also know that you can do that in the Wizardry games as well. I thought if Wizardry could allow you to export your characters from 1 to the next all the way to Wizardry 8, that would be really neat. Especially to see how the party of adventurers evolved from when they first started.

My question is if any of you know such games and if so, do you have recommendations of what you thought were good games with the same system?

You can do that with FO and FO2, wha-a-a-a-a-a-aa-tt?!?! If that is true and I've been playing for all these years without knowing that, I'll eat my hat.

Plus, Mass Effect

Mass Effect and Dragon Age are perfect examples.
Baldur's gate 1 & 2. Plus, you can mod it to turn both into a single massive game.

I could have sworn that my CD version of Fallout 2 had the ability to import a saved game from Fallout 1, but I definitely could be wrong. Does anyone else have the CD version of Fallout 2 and confirm this wasn't the case? I could have mixed the games with some other ones.

I have a feeling I might have been thinking of BG1/BG2.

Is there a similar thing for the NWN games?
No clue. Never liked the first, couldn't get into the second's interface. So no interest there.

I found this thread with some games that haven't been mentioned here

Awesome. Thanks for the link!

I tried Googling what I wanted, but I didn't know how to word it so Google 'understands' my query.
Some more games not mentioned already:

* Ishar trilogy (but not Crystals of Arborea).
* Realms of Arkania trilogy.
* Might and Magic to Might and Magic II.
* Might and Magic: Darkside of Xeen to Clouds of Xeen (GOG already sells them in the merged World of Xeen form).
* Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar through to Ultima VI: The False Prophet (later/earlier games can't import).
* Wing Commander to Wing Commander II.
* Wizardry: Bane of the Cosmic Forge through to Wizardry 8 (characters can't be imported from Wizardry V). The first four Wizardry scenarios support importing between them but those aren't available digitally.

I think you can also do it with Titan's Quest. I'm not too sure about it though.
