Greetings! I completed both W1 and W2 on steam. Now I am plannning to re-install my OS. So I want to copy my W2 save files in order to keep my progress. So I have 2 questions:
1) What folder should I copy?
2) How does one import saves between steam and gog?
Thank you!

What the hell is W?
Probably Wasteland.
or maybe The Witcher? - considering his avatar. That is from The Witcher isn't it? I haven't played it yet.

EDIT: Also, he is a pretender to the throne as I am the TRUE king of cookies. :P

If you reinstall Windows you lose everything and have to start again.Steam will say that you are not known. You will need to prove who you are and then download all games again.I have done this a couple of times and it can be a pain in the a*** setting up again..Find your saves and just copy to my documents, that's the easy part..

My Documents > The Witcher / Witcher 2

(at least for the GOG games)

Check the local game directory for if the saves are present there, if they aren't they are probably in your User folder (Either User/AppData, or User/My Documents, or something similar), in which case backing up your User folder will save 95% of the game saves and anything else related...

Course that could also save a bunch of junk including temporary files you don't care about. Probably clean out your folders of excess junk before backing up.

Although to note, there are a couple games that apparently save through the registry... Which ones i don't recall. Games would probably have to have tiny saves (1k or less) to make that a viable option.

I keep meaning to but I'm not sure my old comp can handle it.
I may have to wait 'til I get a new pc. It's definitely on my must
play list though.

If your unsure about your PC,then only way to find out.Install game and see if it will kick in or not,if it doesn't then just uninstall again. It's been around for a while so who knows it may work, give it a go either way you only lose a couple hours time wasted.
