Yeah. It didn't seem to do anything.

At this point, I think it would be prudent to run a DxDiag on your system and post it.

Start -> Run -> dxdiag, enter.

Wait for it to run, should be a progress bar somewhere on the app.

Then, hit "Save all information". Put it somewhere easy to locate (Desktop is a good place). Then, open that up, copy and paste into a reply.

I had a similar problem with another game, but it wasn't Vista that was the culprit. Messing around with compatibility modes corrupted an .ini file of the game so it wouldn't launch anymore.
If all previous methods didn't help, try reïnstalling the game, you can make backups of your savegames if you want, they will still work if you copy them back.

You tried reinstalling it, like Strijkbout suggested?

I've re installed a couple time now. I tried again to make sure but with no result. So i re downloaded it and re installed but the problem stays the same.

:( the only thing i can think of right now is that you should change your OS... Have you received an answer from Support?

Looking at your DxDiag shows nothing out of the ordinary. The game should be working fine, according to the requirements on the gamecard....Have you used any of the settings on the nVidia control panel? I dunno if any of that would help. Compatibility settings?

Is there a resolution problem anyone knows about? Like Homeworld, you can set custom resolutions through the Registry?

I am honestly stumped at this point.

Have you tried turning off the antivirus and firewall?
Unplug the router before you turn off the firewall.

No offense, but why would they turn off the router if they are turning off the firewall? Why not just disable the network connection on the computer itself?

Whatever is easier, but not knowing about the level of computer understanding of the user I just went for the safest solution to keep things clear (not having to disable/enable wireless connections and all).

Still can't help much I'm afraid,

If you're getting desperate, you could try going to the nVidia Control Panel, then setting up the "Manage 3D Settings" bit. You can isolate this to a specific application (in your case Sacrifice.exe), then just go nuts! I'd suggest switching it all off, and playing around with the AA settings, but really this is out of my depth. If it all goes wrong, you can just remove the Sacrifice profile from there, and it will revert to as it was.

Worth a shot...

EDIT: Also in there is an option on the left menu to "View compatibility with games". Sacrifice is in the list for me, but it just says I'm ok. It might have suggestions for your card.

Shouldn't something be listed there ? On my own DxDiag i have a bunch of stuff listed there. My card is also a Geforce, diferent model though.

Does it say "Enabled" ?

Actually it shows that DirectDraw Acceleration is disabled and Direct3D Acceleration is partially enabled.

then enable it.
