I am running 64 bit win 7 on an acer with an ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics card.

I tried all the diff options for compatability. I installed the manual patch 1f, and also the win 7 fix from http://sac.kicks-ass.net/

The came will run fine with all the settings I have tried. And I can start all the tuts and even the campaign. When I get finished with the tuts though, and just as the cinematic ends for the start of the campaign, the game crashes. It seems as if the method that the game is using to end it's 3D drawing state at the end of the scenarios is throwing an error.

BUT, I have no clue if that is really the issue or, if it is, how to fix it.

Any ideas?

Just another note I did go and install the latest version of the driver for my graphics card.

I hear Win 7 64 bit is a problem for this game and it's a shame. I haven't tried playing it since I migrated, have you tried the Sacrifice sub-forum here on GOG already? Apologies if you have and there's nothing there, I just didn't want anything obvious overlooked.

Yes I posted there, and looked around. I didn't find anything related
When doing the setup and start the game you have D3D Transform & Lighting (D3DT&L) and just plain D3D.

Literally select just D3D as if you use the T&L setting you get random crashes and lockups

Do you know of anyone who's successfully running it on Win 7 64 bit? If not, it might simply be an issue with Windows itself (something compat mode can't cure), if so it might simply be something fixable, like the 64 bit vid card drivers from AMD not playing well with it.

I also find that updating to the "latest" vid card driver for GOG games is usually not the winning strategy, as many of them tend to take out stuff that makes older games with issues work. You might try the oldest version that works on your machine just to see.

Yes there are a few people who are using win7 64 bit and it is working on their computers. I am thining it is more to do with my particular graphics card.

That's my guess as well, if you can find out whether they have a consistent architecture (e.g. always nVidia) or not, that would help. Obviously you're a bit limited on what you can do with your laptop, but Sacrifice is a pretty old game at this point and should run on even budget hardware if you can scrounge some up.
Well I will look through and see what I can come up with, but I am still hoping someone has a simple fix that doesn't involve setting up a new computer
yea its probably the graphic card, try playing in windowed mode.
Where did you install the game? In Program Files (x86)? If so, try installing it at other location.

I know this might be a silly question, but have you logged a support request?

I did try installing in prog files originally. I then installed it elsewhere and no difference.

I wasn't aware the company still offered support for this game, it is quite old. a link?

Working flawlessly here, win 7 x64 Ultimate.
Try installing it outside Program Files x86. Also Administrator privileges are must, and gfx driver update usually helps. :)

Edit: wpegg meant GOG support ticket. ;)

wpegg suggests sending gog a support ticket, assuming it's their version you are running.
