Has anyone else noticed that Russia is pumping out some really good PC games? I think these guys mean business. Which is cool because I think the PC game market needs some new blood.
Hope they pump out some really good translations too. That's the part that sometimes kills the atmosphere when poorly done.
King's Bounty was made by a Russian team, wasn't it?
What other recent games have come from Russia?
Yep King Bounty is from Russia, but I would rather say it's more an eastern European renaissance, don't forget we're on the forums of a polish company, the Witcher was also done by Poles and there are many interesting project ongoing by eastern Europeans studios, like King Arthur or Silent Hunter 5.
I find that many Russian games, while very cool, can be very broken, and take some time to get straight. Like Giant Bomb said, "1C Publishing: Our Games Mean Well, or 1C Publishing: In Six Months, The Users Will Fix It".

I tried the demo of that Cryostasis, and the performance was pretty bad. It convinced me not to buy the game.
My computer just isn't enough to run Cryostasis either. Got memory and cpu, but not nearly the graphics card for it. Too bad, it really does sound good.
I recently got Parkan II which I haven't had time to get much into, but I do like it. Space sim with ship boarding and some FPS type action mixed in.
The Tomorrow War is supposed to be good too, and Dark Horizon is fun (like Freespace).
Don't forget IL-2 coming out next month which is a VERY strong game.
A lot of good stuff is coming from over there. A lot of more serious games than seem to come out here too, which is nice.

Space Rangers 2, Pathologic, You Are Empty, and I think a Russian team made Space Rangers 1 as well...
<boast>
Cryostasis looks awesome on my ENGTX295.

I'm sorry guys, but what's the point of spending a shit load of cash on a new rig if you don't get to boast about it on the interwebz ? Am i right ? :)
On a serious note, i can't believe i still didn't find the time for King's Bounty. All i have to do is download it from Metaboli.
Unless people stop making new games for a couple of years i'll never catch up :(

Well, I'll put it this way: Crysis runs better on my machine than Cryostasis does.
Let's be real, here. Crysis isn't pretty enough to justify its system requirements, and Cryostasis does not look like Crysis.
King's Bounty: The Legend was last year's GOTY. Fantasy Wars and Elven Legacy are also great russian games.
Death to spies 1/2, raven shield, Exodus from the earth, (I think) alpha prime, chameleon (cross between Hitman and splinter cell).

There's a second Death to SPies out??? How is it??

Really, you liked "You are Empty"? I haven't heard that from too many people. I've been very reluctant to buy it. Pathologic, I'm buying.
I always loved Nival's stuff, personally.

I liked the concept but have yet to play the actual game.
